Any Vixen S3 owners with the cable clutch. I'd be interested to know what clutch kit you are running. I've been struggling to find a kit that works. The Burton items all have a lower height cover compared to the one I removed. Same with other clutch suppliers ie Borg & Beck.

This means the release bearing doesn't reach, Burton firstly advised their extended bearing carrier - but still no good, then advised a Helix cover with a thrust pad fitted - this 'just' allows gear engagement at very end of pedal travel but really not drivable. The extended carrier & thrust pad exceed the difference in height between the covers.

I'm now thinking that the larger cover (no longer available) must have different pivot points or something but very difficult to check this out. I have found a company who will rebuild my existing cover which looks to be my only option unless someone can put forward another suggestion.

After much pain removing and re-installing the gearbox & clutch 4 times before we got a new clutch installed, setup and working correctly banghead.

I say "new" but it's actually the old cover housing but with a brand new pressure plate, diaphragm spring & other internal components - so as good as new.

If any one experiences this issue, PM me and I'll point you in the direction of two companies who are able to sort you out.

As an aside, I'd really like a spare (original taller) cover. If anyone happens to have one lying on a shelf or replaces their worn clutch with a new one and doesn't need the old cover, please don't bin it. I would be very grateful to take it off your hands. beer

Just to be clear the cover needs to be approx 45mm (unclamped) from the flywheel face to the tip of the fingers.
