Have Vixen owners found their ARB's to be bent at all when carrying out maintenance work or rebuilds. When laid on a flat surface, mine sits up at one end by just under 3/4".
A long term Vixen owner close to me says he found the same issue during a rebuild 20 years ago and another contributor here has found the same. Just wonder if it is a common Vixen thing or just bad luck on my part?

They are not bent from new, but frequently bent. I have seen them bent either way.

You can buy a new one from Rimmer, which will be straight. Or use adjustable drop links so the bend is dialled out.

Is the Rimmer replacement the same width as the originals, so it leaves the drop links vertical, as I read that the eplacement ARB's for the range of Triumph models are generally narrower on width?

Narrower. I returned one I bought from Rimmer, didn’t reach the drop links.

There are lots on EBay, but I managed to get another bent one…. If you buy one check it isn’t bent first!

The adjustable drop links will accommodate a fair bend.

The vixen ARBs are Triumph Spitfire and Herald items. They are, in fact too short as standard by about an inch each end. As I understand it some people get them bent to fit, but this requires some considerable effort because of the nature of the material. I believe that the factory actually used them as standard with the addition of longer bolts and a one inch bobbin on each end. This took me an age to discover, but having realised this I found that I could actually see them on several cars I photographed for reassembly guidance. These bobbins are available from various sources I can't remember where I got mine, it might even have been off Ebay.

I got a new one cold bent by a blacksmith 3 weeks ago. Superb job.

As Nic says the adjustable drip links dial out the bend so that’s your best option. I was going up to a 7/8” one so took my old (bent) one off.

I have bought adjustable drop links so will be able to dial out the bend, at least make it an equal amount each side before locking i all up eventually. Interesting what Astacus says about the bobbins. My ARB ends were not connected when I stripped those suspension and steering parts off a few weeks back now, so on reassembly I will find out if I need to make the distance up the same way.

edited to add, I came across the spare bobbins yesterday. I think I had to buy more than I needed so if you need any......

Hi Astacus, have just seen you post.
I shall be fitting all those parts up at the front of the chassis shortly so if I need the bobbins I shall be in touch, thank you.

Hi Astacus,
Got my ARB offered up into position today (bit of fun with poly bushes that weren't exactly an easy fit into the two original saddle clamps!).
I find when offering up the only original drop link I had as a test piece, that, as you say I have a distance of 7/8"-1" to make up each end.
So would take you up on your kind offer of the couple of bobbins that you had as spares please.
I can pm you with payment/postage/address details.
