I like that. Nice project.

Automatic? Must be quite rare?

I had a 280i convertible auto until it caught fire on the M11 during rush-hour. The good old days!

Me too, a gold 2.8 automatic!...(OK the salvage of) I bought from a guy called Colin, that must of got fed up with laying around his place. Still got loads of the parts of it in boxes along with lots of factory laser cut parts for making wedge chassis. LOL A@

cheap? depends the condition.

first of all it has a "destroyed" body....this cheapish aftermarket sunroof is a no-go.

the chassis is most likelly shot as well and the rest is in unknown condition:

1 x body-repair and new paint
1 x chassis/suspension refurb
and if things are already body-off....complete refurb of drivetrain

Interior needs work as well...missing door card on passenger side, worn drivers seat.....

so i would better invest my money into a v8 wedge

Potentially still a bargain if you set aside personal dislikes, assumptions and one door card !

to be Honest: who wants an (astmatic) V6? not many
who wants an astmatic v6 engine with an automatic gearbox whose torque converter swallows 20bhp right from the start? Nobody

this car needs to be re-commisoned anyway.

so why invest money in an unloved example, whereas the same money could buy and refurb a more loved v8 model?

Well i've got 2 asthmatic V6 cars, 3000S and 3000M and they both put a big smile on my face.
Also got a very asthmatic 4 cylinder car a Lotus Elan Sprint that can blow many V8 cars into the Weeds.

no you dont!!!

your cars are equipped with the famous Essex V6, with plenty of torque, whereas the above mentioned Tasmin has the asthmatic Cologne V6 Engine fitted.

a huge difference and not comparable.
