the vixen s4 has the M chassis but it is a bit high, what sort of spring schocks have you tried on your
M chassis?LEDA, SPAX adjustable perhaps?

This won't be new to the old git's (like me) but in the 71-74 era the shock and spring setup on all the cars used the same front spring throughout the range
and the same rear spring throughout the range....all of the cars then had alloy spacers that pre-load the spring to give the correct ride height re the engine size/weight. DIY then comes into play, (the later springs were then made for each car weight and the only difference then was that the Turbo car's rear was pre-loaded) and not knowing this then retro fit NEW (say 1600M 75-80) springs STILL USING the alloy spacer and then wonder why the car is wrong on the height, The answer to the question .... know what you have got, know what you need to do with the car/spring/setup, road, track, bit of both (we fit Avo adjustable for road and Leda for track and Koni alloy's for track plus) THEN using piston rod /seal size is almost everything in a shock rule (the bigger the better) verses budget! 96..140...600 pounds per corner THEN ask someone with expierience with your type of car in cornerweighting set the car up, with the correct springs to carry the car, (you might want to get rid of the 70's "pre-loaded for feel springs" that are 14" long and compressed to 12" in use) asking again what am I using it for, then order the springs. The S4 is an odd one as the weight over-hang on the front and rear is special to that car (Vixen and M mix) so the M settings do not work, (I know this as I setup a S4 BUT with a 3000 engine) and 3000M settings were OK but lighter springs on the front worked better for the customer) ALL this said do have tracking and cambers reset if you are doing this (the rewards then are huge for you money spent)
