Back in the fold.

After a break of nearly 15 years, we were re-united with our 3000S Turbo on Monday.
100 mile drive to Hexham Horseless Cariages where it will have some paintwork and new door hinges before finally coming home.
Thoughts on the drive?? - Quite stunning performance for a car that is nearly thirty years old. Braking and general ride quality (thanks to previous owner) also top drawer.

Nice to see it back with you John.
TA told me the story of this car. I also know who built it and how good it is. He actually has another one in his garage at the moment in a fetching red shade which will also be immaculate when finished.
Why didn't you buy my silver griff while you were at Tony's place. I need to build a garage with the money. Hope to catch up with you and the cars at a local meet soon.
Neil.

Hi Neil,
The car has had a lot of development since leaving that particular spot in West Yorkshire. The thing that struck me most about the car is that 15 years since the restoration, the chassis is still like the day it was done. The rest of the car (paint being the exception) now looks like a well looked after car rather than a restored one.
See you soon no doubt.
Would prefer a Mk 3 Steve for racing. Will give £2450 for yours???
I think you have hit the nail on the head. we need to start a movement keeping them in the country. The number of older cars going to US and Europe is frightening.
I am now building the barn but have had to treble its proposed size with the projects I have on. too many cars are also being sat on at the moment by people who think unrestored scrap is worth a lot of money. I am going to have a serious building year this year.
Steve. What e-mail are you using? I will send you a couple of pics of the racer.
