I have a moto lita steering wheel on my S3. I want to change it to a leather wheel as the wood rim is rather slippy when damp (or when my hands get a bit sweaty!).

I have tried sourcing a boss for months to fit a Griffith (90's version) wheel with no success. So I have decided to stick with the moto lita make and buy a leather rim wheel made by them.

a lot of places sell moto lita wheels made for minis. they seem to have the same 9 allen key mounting around the edge of the centre but I do not know if the centre point will fit - anyone in the classic section (more used to moto lita wheels!) care to comment?

I have a Moto Lita steering wheel fitted on my Dellow, the leather covered model.
It fits via the nine Allen screws onto a special back boss that Moto Lita made for me, you give them details of the steering column onto which the wheel is fitted,ie. dia, splines etc etc and they should be able to quote you. The back boss has the same black crackled finish as the front part of the steering wheel. Hope this helps.

hmm - well I think the wheel currently on my S is a moto lita (it has the 9 allen key mounts) so in theory it should bolt straight on via these 9 mounts - is that what you are saying?

the boss affixed to the column should be to fit a moto lita already. so the fact that its from a mini should be irrelevant - if I aready have the boss? I have never fitted a steering wheel so have no idea what i am on about!!!!

If the boss already fitted accepts your Moto lita wheel then you should be ok.
To check that your wheel is Moto lita, as far as I know, they always stamped moto lita on the wheel.
Does the boss fitted match in finish any part of the wheel? that may be another way of checking if its Moto lita and the boss was supplied by them.
The only difference may be the diameter of the boss into which the Allen screws are fitted, this may vary wheel to wheel, check with Moto lita or see their web site for details.

Try Europa Specialist Spares for Mota Lita bits - they seem to do a fairly wide range of kit, well worth getting hold of a catalogue. Give them a call, i'm sure they'll be able to sort you out:
