Not in an M, but a mate of mine is currently building himself a new wishbone rear end for his Cobra. He is using the dif from a Sierra 4x4, which includes an LSD. One problem he has encountered is that the dif is offset to one side, so the CV joint on the inboard end of the driveshaft fowled the new carrier. Other than that he seem to have got it all together fairly straightforwardly.
There again he's pretty hot, he dropped a 2 litre Zetec into a Vixen as well.
Good luck,
Mike.

There's a 1600M that occasionally turns up at the Northants region meetings with a Sierra diff and gearbox - engine is a 2 litre Vauxhall.
I haven't seen him since last autumn - he said he was going to turbo it over the winter.
A picture of the rear end was published in Sprint amongst all the Duxford photos - it has the circular rear lights.
