Question, on my u.s. spec. 38 DGAS carb there is a accelerator pump type devise on the left side of the carb. The accelerator pump is on the right hand side. What is its function? No one I have spoken with knows what it is, it is not shown on the parts list or in the illistration from weber and a new diaphram diden't come with the otherwise correct rebuild kit from Weber. All thoughts are welcome, thank's.

Gary, this is the standard Weber 38DGAS

Maybe if you take a pic of your one and post it on this forum, we may be able to shed some light on your query.

(or wait until Woodwork and I'll take an up-close look for myself )

Colin thanks for the reply/offer. I will try to post a pic. to help describe the unit. It is on the float bowl opposite side of the accelerator pump in the same location as the accelerator pump. Thanks again G.K.

It's the anti-stall pump which was originally designed for use on cars with automatic gearboxes. You will only notice it working if you get dirt in the jets or have the tickover too low. It works by pumping in extra fuel when the car is about to stall and is noticable by the revs going up and down at tickover.

I have one on my UK spec. 3000S. However the 38DGAS on my Scimitar hasn't got one fitted but the casting for one is still the carb.

Nigel, thank's for the information. Now I know what to search for as far as parts are concerned. Have enjoyed your site with the restoration of your vehicles. Keep up the site, thanks Gary.
