Can anyone help?
I'm rebuilding the front suspension on my 1600M. I have all the new bits laid out in front of me and a nice exploded view of the trunion and the bits contained in the trunion repair kit. Can anyone tell me how to fit the trunion to the vertical link?
I know its threaded but how many turns?
What is the best grease to use?
Does anyone have a set of building instructions?

If you want a build manual for front trunnion (and covers brakes as well) get a Haynes TR6 book. Look on eBay.

I always used to use EP90 gearbox oil rather than grease and change it frequently (3000 miles or so). I used to part fill the trunnion and just wind it on. Wipe off any excess.

As regard to number of turns, I just would it up until it met the plastic/ribber dust jacket, as simple as that!!!

With regard to lubrication, make sure it never drys out, this is where failure occurs. As I said I used EP90 and never had a failure in approx 40k miles.

Hope that helps

The Haynes TR6 manual is also available new as a reprint. The Haynes website lists it at £25 and you can order direct from them online (www.haynes.co.uk).

I'll have to get round to getting one of those myself.....

Another option would be to get an original Triumph TR6 workshop manual. - I know that Moss do a reprint. Again, I'm going to have to get round to getting one of those!

Local library can probably help with the TR6 manual - or send me an email and maybe I can help !!
