If you could ask them nicely to give the British GTs a slot on the Spa 24 weekend rather than the weekend before that'd be super (teams and drivers might not agree though)
Given the number of BGT teams racing in the 24 (Barwell, Optimum, Parker and usually TF) it wouldn't be possible. SRO prides itself in ensuring that its events never clash with one another, so teams can compete in multiple series.Speedweek, the weekend before the 24, is great for the BGT teams who also race in the 24.
Julian, I've not had time to post since but I thought the live coverage was a really great addition to the longer race. The race itself was also engaging which helped make for great viewing.
Well done on getting it going this year.
A shame we've not been successful in persuading Ben to add an Anglesey date, but hopefully one day it will happen. I have visions of a summer evening race rolling into a concert, party and funfair above the circuit with the views out to sea... Calendar looks good though and should be another great season building on a good end to this one.
Perhaps BigMowley and I need to have a chat about getting together for a blast in it next year

There's been live coverage of all the races for a good three years already, I think. The 2019 race was live on the SRO YouTube channel.Well done on getting it going this year.

Sadly Anglesey is nowhere near big enough for a modern GT3 car. I remember going to Mondello with BGT in '04, which was a similar story - plus the cars are much faster these days.
That's simply not true, the circuit is 12m wide making it one of the wider in the country, wider than Oulton etc which all comfortably host rounds and at 2.1m its long enough. But the perception exists its short and narrow sadly so competitiors make the same statement you do. I agree there are places like Rocket which would be tight in a field of GT cars and an application was approved to ease the radius of that as part of the circuit works. I was up there in a contemporary GT3 car only a few weeks ago so I have a relatively good sense of it and most of the teams test there regularly. SRO have always preferred a set calendar of circuits that they see as 'core'.
Regardless its not coming so it's a moot point. I just know it well so was hoping for home advantage
Yes I've seen some of the other coverage previously but the production etc seemed better this time around IMO and it felt fresh.

I think the other issue with Anglesey is the pits and paddock aren't really suitable but the circuit had a plan in place to address this. I seem to recall a planning application with the aim of improving the
facilities so the circuit could compete with tracks such as Oulton Park.
I've no idea if it's still in progress but it would be great to see something happen to make it more viable for British GT and other big series.

Fair enough. I have to say I don't know any GT3 teams who test there - the big ones like Barwell don't. They tend to test at tracks they race on.We rented it exclusively a few times several years ago for some touring car testing (BTCS) and found it really interesting but a bit tight, even for a car that was used to racing regularly at Zolder (which was the gearing we used).

It has been a difficult year (obviously) and to get a full season of racing out of it was a fantastic and adding Jenson and Chris to the Silverstone 500 was a great result.
It would be great to see you there next year!
British GT & SRO should be very proud of the race season that they managed to bring together.
The coverage was fantastic, as it has been for the past few years. Joe Osbourne is brilliant and very entertaining (naming corners Rubbish 1 and Rubbish 2 at Silverstone had me in stitches)
The fact that the last race was on Sky Sports F1 (due to obvious commercial reasons) has me fearful for the future of YouTube streaming- please keep it available to those of us that don't have Sky!!

Don't worry, the live streaming is not going anywhere!
PS I received a package yesterday with a fantastic branded jacket and the coolest t-shirt I have ever seen together with a hand written thank you note from Jenson and Chris.
I was like a kid at Christmas!!!

Credit to you and your team too Thank you.
Thank you, but I just put the money up and SRO did all the heavy lifting! I will take credit when it is due, but in this case it was others (Shai, Lauren, Ben. Tom, Alaina) and the whole team who pulled this season off so brilliantly. We are already discussing plans for next year! I will take some credit for getting Jenson and Chris to the final race though!

Thanks for that link. I hadn't seen it and was actually supposed to be on it!So I need to make it clear that I’m posting this up purely as a thanks to Julian, not to point out what he was missing today.............
JRM had an end of season jolly on today at Donington Park and Julian was unable to attend due to work commitments so I snuck into his seat instead .
Unfortunately they wouldn’t let me have a drive but did do rides in these cars with Martin Plowman and Kelvin Fletcher at the wheel -
Thanks Julian, it was a fun day out
