Unfortunately from a Ferrari fans perspective the new 427 Monaro from GM-Holden thrashed the field of Porsches, Ferrari, Mosler, etc in the first 24 hours race in Oz in nearly 50 years.

The Ferrari 360 lasted just under 2 hours I think (360N-GT will be able to shed more light on the 360s problems) before having oil pressure problems and then following an engine swap in 3 1/2 hours had the second engine go as well

The Porsches either crashed trying to keep ahead of the 427 or had mechanical problems(drivetrain snapped) but the bottom line is this 427 monster was only revving to 4500 and was cruising down the straights at 320kph and could consistently do 2m15s laps (2m15s is an awesome time BTW for a pole position in the 360!!) without breaking into a sweat. It ran like a clock and the Eurotrash had no hope

Big trouble is the morons here think this vindicates their family sedan being a wise choice as theirs is obviously better than a Ferrari or full-blown race Porsche....tw@ts

A sulking 308GT4

Awww diddums. I *seriously* wish the other bathurst races were televised, not just the bloody V8s!!! This is the same race the RX7s were dominating in the early 90's... before they were BANNED!!! grrrrr
Is there a website for these bathurst races, as the only ones I can find are V8 s'car related?
Good work on the monaros part though, but I know what I'd rather be driving from the field you mentioned.
