Secondly Annie and Amanda only got the chance to use the car for the first time two weeks ago, now there is a substantial difference between driving a production spec 306 and a GT2 spec Viper. So all in all they made a good first attempt.
THANK YOU! perfect coment, couldnt have put it better.
But does "inexperience" cover leaving the pit garage at Rockingham testing and driving straight into the pitlane wall??
viperman, you are so obsessed with Vipers you can't see tha facts...The pair of them are in the car as a silly promotional excercise and will end up causing mayhem (like thay did on Sunday, and I did see the whole thing) due to their incompetance at this level. I'd like to think that many years of watching top level motorsport and being a reasonably experienced track day driver I would be in a position to judge. The series has lost some top notch drivers and cars since last year, Callum Lockie, Mike Jordan, Micheal Caine, Martin Short, to name a handfull.
Let's just hope it improves because the Tuscan race was crap aswell. I will be at Snetterton next weekend but if it doesn't improve.......I may not be back...

Its easy for all of us to offer an opinion and I'm sure Annie could have made a better choice BUT she was racing in the car for the first time and was dealing with the CDL TVR and the two Moslers catching her at the trickiest part of the circuit. Not easy and certainly one of those moments that I'm glad I was standing watching it rather than sitting behind the wheel dealing with it!

I reckon this 2 minute stop cost them about 2 laps to the leaders. it was 2mins stationary. They had to get in and out of the pits too and the moslers+Piers (and CDL come to mention it!) were lapping in 1:11.s.
Extra fuel stop was for the fact that in last years championship format it would've been in GT class.
No disrespect to the girls but if slightly more competetive drivers were in the lead overall i would like to see the effect of the extra stop. Seems a little harsh in my opinion. Are many other GT spec cars going to enter in the next few races???
Well said Bert, that should be good enough for anyone I'd have thought.
This racing is all about a team effort. bert's lads showed that in spades and got a fighting fourth for their troubles. CMS's efforts are focussed on getting the girls up to speed - Same game, different timescales!

I did not see the race, but have read the commentary and the comment on PH. I will say well done to the girls, not just for finishing the race with so little experience of the car, but to have the 'balls' to get out there and do it in the first place.
They are inexperienced at this level, but so was everybody else at some point, and experience can only be got by being there and doing it.
I just wish I had the funds available to race at all.

The Viper, when 6 laps down, should do exactly that and get out of the way to allow the leading cars past rather than obstructing the leader and ruining the race for the car that had led for the majority of the race.

and Amanda they have done an excellent job we need them in this championship. In my eyes the tuscan race was one of the best we have had in the last 3years because we saw 3 different leaders now thats a 1st for a long time.
yes, thank you, and i also thought the tuscan race was good, very close at the front.

But that is part of racing, especially endurance racing, how you deal with the traffic. It's not Annie's fault that the leading Mosler chose to go in that direction, he could have gone the other way and still have lead the race! For crying out loud, isn't that what racing is about? What actually happens on the track??? The winning Mosler nearly lost the lead before the flag anyway as the Corvette was stuck in the middle of the chicane and the driver had to lock everything up to avoid it!
You can't blame the Viper just because they were 6 laps back. They would only have been 4 laps down had they not stopped. And as has been said before, it was their first race in the car after very limited testing.
As for people on this board doing better, (whether you are a road going TVR driver or not) If I had the cash, I'd pay for you to have a test in a race prepared Viper and see just how well you got on. I can assure you I'd be pulling gravel out the chassis before the end of the day.
Benno, in GT racing (and all sportscar racing), the car being lapped does not have to get out of the way. It is up to the faster car (or cars in this case) to find a way past. I saw the whole incident and it's one of the most exciting pieces of motorsport I've ever seen. It capped a truly fantastic race. Yes the girls where a little slow given the car, but i doubt there are many people on this forum who could have done a better job with similar experience. Amanda Stretton in particular i thought did very well

I didnt realise that to be the case and thought a blue flag system was operated as in F1 to indicate to let lapping cars through.
End of posts from myself now on this thread as requested below.
