Now that was pure racing

Monaco makes the speeds look like they have doubled when going through the tunnel, crazy stuff

Congrats Trulli, but Button another 2nd place

The F1 cars are truly at Comic book speeds

Some fairly comic book driving too...

Some of the incar footage was just ridiculous it really looked as if it had been speeded up , also cant think of the name of the chicane (bend) i think its Tabac the camera had the cars coming directly at it in a fairly tight shoot , the cars go left then right it is almost unbelivable how fast the cars change direction through there.

I know, it looks fantastic watching F1 cars bomb it round those corners at 140-150mph!

The marshals were terrible there. They really need to sort it out. On friday Mark Webber had to extinguish his car whilst the marshals were standing around looking at it. They didn't improve much with the race either, they just seemed to stand around and cause general confusion for the drivers.

A couple of years ago the Monte Carlo Motor Club got in hot water with the FIA for it's crap marshalling during the Monte Carlo Rally. No surprise here really.

There was one shot from Buttons car (?), looking at the left front wheel from about halfway up the side pod.
It was fantastic!
really gave you an idea of the speed, especially when you saw another car. Awesome watching the suspension and tyres working.
Pity they only used it once.

You should have been there last weekend for the Historics, now that is MOTOR RACING ,not Scalectric won on computers

Are you one of those people who think road cars are not as much fun to drive with their new-fangled disk brakes?

Personally I agree with her. Historic racing is a hell of a ot more entertaining than F1. The Historic grand prix was an excellent meeting. Mind you each to their own.

Brilliant, especially to know that Herr Schumeister is capable of the odd bit of driver error too!

Schumacher didnt make a mistake he was being his usual arrogant self and montoya should him what he could do with it!

Personally I always thought that if you run into the rear of the car in front then its your fault for not paying attention ... end of story ... no excuses ....

but hey it was only some miserable Kraut he took off wasn't it?

Not entirely true, imagine being in someones slipstream and the guy infront of you brakes while only halfway down a straight, not much you can do but go in the back of him. These cars decelerate so quickly (and have no brake lights) that by the time you realise what's going on, there's nowhere to go.

As MS has pointed out, he was the race leader and a lapped driver drove into the back of him. If it had been Pantano or Baumgartner they would have got a ban, JPM has got away with it because he's a big name IMO.

Modern F1 cars demand lightning reflexes - the braking distances are so short that they can catch people out. I remember MMontoya doing the same in a safety car period at a Champ Car race a few years ago.

Or if you don't have ITV2 it's on terrestrial ITV Wednesday 26th May, 1:10am to 4:05am. Probably best to set record it.

I wonder if the 5:30pm repeat will include MB's comment on Alonso's crash. Something like "Even in the middle of the spin he still finds time to give Ralph 'The Bird'" Pure Class!

That was one of the funniest things I've seen in F1 for a long time. Exiting the tunnel backwards at 100mph with no wheels and all he can think about as he bounces off the armco is giving RS the finger - brilliant!

I like Martins grid walks, he comes out with some funny lines. Like at Monaco after he had been talking to Roman Abramovich Bernie started to whisk him away and held up Roman grid pass to Martin and he said very dryly "yes, Bernie you got him a pass, well done".

There were others during the race and I'm sure many more he'd like to say during the race to his co-commentator.

The comment is included in the highglights programme - as are his rflections on the marshalls too. One of the best GPs in a long time and actually some good overtaking going on too. See, you CAN overtake at Monaco. All you need is a bit of bottle.

Funny thing is, if MS was British, he'd be called Mike Cobblers.
