Do you have grand stand seats? If not you want to get there as soon as the gates open which is around 6am as it gets very busy, very early
Have fun
Is this based on whether or not you have allocated seats?Have fun
Going for the first time this year too, and working at Silverstone it's been really exciting seeing the build up as they've been getting ready!

'Erm, voice of doom here. You are bringing his mother too I hope? A two year old at the GP could constitute cruel and unusual punishment.
It is way louder than I would brave with a small human.
Ah we've been every year my little one has been alive and she loves it - ear defenders are a must though. It is way louder than I would brave with a small human.
If you've got a grand stand rock up whenever. Traffic is at it's worst very early but eases off as you get closer to the race time.
Enjoy it!

This is based on my experience of having General Admission tickets. We watched from the end of the hanger straight in 2005 and by 8am the crowd was about 4 rows deep!Going for the first time this year too, and working at Silverstone it's been really exciting seeing the build up as they've been getting ready!

Bringing my two year old up for the grand prix on the Sunday, first time for both of us at a gp!
What time do I need to get to the circuit for before the traffic gets heinously busy? Booked parking at the circuit for ease with push chair etc.
Ps already got him ear defenders!
Very, very early. I'd aim to arrive about the time your two year old probably gets up (I'm guessing 6.30). It will become a very, very long day. What time do I need to get to the circuit for before the traffic gets heinously busy? Booked parking at the circuit for ease with push chair etc.

Perhaps think about camping the night before? Some sites generally still have space. If you want close but noisy, Windmill (that's a no then). If you want a bit calmer I'd recommend Hamilton Fileds.
You MUST get some proper ear defenders for the litle one though, preferably with a BS mark. Absolutely no ifs or buts. If he/she tries to take them off super glue them the their head. I have a six year old and she has a nice pink pair I bought on Amazon here. If you have a son and he's bashful they do blue, white and green too!
If you fancy the camping and want to find out how to make the best of it you could try the guides on this website
