Anyone watch the race last night? Sadly I was working at 6am today so had to miss it, luckily there's a nice chap on Youtube who's uploaded the whole thing. Must admit, my Apple TV is really coming into its own here, rather than use my laptop to watch it live, I'm watching the Youtube video on a 32" TV in 720p! Not going to spoil it for anyone, so here's the link to the first segment (links to 2, 3, 4 and 5 all contained on there too, just click through) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noFEFdOQ_tQ
Superstar, thanks for the link! biggrin

No worries, it's pretty good quality, just my crappy student accommodation internet letting it down, I thought I'd seen the last of buffering when we upgraded from dialup!
Just got to the end now, I love how the winner HAS to do burnouts/donuts, and won't get a penalty for doing so a la F1.

Yup, gotta love it biggrin

Nice little passenger ride too! He looked terrified when he was trying to work out how he was going to sit on the door, not knowing he was going to do the best part of half a lap hehe

Some great drives, really enjoyed that race.

So did I, recorded the whole thing and watched on Sunday. I like the latest format, but think it needs some work. The winners of the first three segments had a huge advantage being able to pit and get new tyres with six laps to go in the fourth segment knowing they would line up 1,2,3 for the last pit stop and consequently for the start of segment 5. Perhaps close the pits during cautions in segment 4 ...

I wouldnt say it was an unfair advantage at all. They did their bit to win their sections.

Imo its just playing the rules.

Still in Charlotte this weekend, trucks are taking a rest so just Sprint and Nationwide.

The cup race is the Coca Cola 600, its the longest race of the year. Qualifying was on Thursday and Almirola in the #43 got pole with Ambrose next to him. The cup race is scheduled for 11:19pm our time Sunday. This is primarily to avoid clashing with the Indy 500 of course.

Nationwide is on Saturday, motors tv are showing it live at 8:30pm.

Shame "double duty" is no longer possible. Will probably dip in and out of the Cup race, especially as I think Princess is running this weekend and now has Coke backing. Nauseating prospect. Will try and catch the Nationwide (call 866 500 55 55) race and will definitely watch Indy, streams permitting. Shall be cheering on Rubens and Taku and breathing a huge sigh of relief when Alesi decides 17mph speed differentials are a bad idea and retires with "engine issue".

Yep princess is running cup this weekend.

Some talk about Kurt Busch joining JGR for the rest of the season. Not really sure what coach is thinking, but I guess if anyone can sort Kurt out, its him.

Yeah Danica is running both series this weekend.

Nice article here, pit lane stalwart Dick Berggren celebrates his 70th birthday next week and is going to retire: http://nascar.speedtv.com/article/cup-dick-berggre...

Am seeing my first NASCAR at Charlotte in October. Tickets booked , including pit lane and race shop tour. Oh and Mustang to drive there from Atlanta - got to do it properly for my first trip to USA! Any hot tips for a first timer who has watched road racing since the 60s but never been to anything like NASCAR- apart from a very dull afternoon at Rockingham watching whatever pale imitation they ran in Northants.

hehe

Travis seems to be doing his best to get beat by the girls again, hopefully Long can get a lap back.

That carb change didn't do Hamlin any favours.

Pastrana is having an absolute nightmare this weekend, spent more time drifting than with grip! I think he's span twice in qualifying, and twice so far today.
