Just reading all the verbal sparring (another word sprang to mind too, but I cannot spell diarrohea),on the RIP thread, from griff2be and Ex29 I thought there was a prospect of an epic Tuscan race for the Bank Holiday, one for the "rose tinted spectacle brigade " to enthuse over for years to come.
So come on gentlemen, "bring it on" .

Ex29 you should have had a from JR by now, so is it an event for the diary???????

Or is it fairy cakes at dawn ?????

Ratpit, dear boy - please don't get your hopes up too much.

Rodney Hawthorn, aka Ex29 is, frankly, full of p1ss and wind. He's blathering on about horns or something now. And if you'd read the awful tosh he's posted on the TVR forum, well, you'd be trying to find a place for him at a nursing home, not on the Tuscan grid.

The poor man is a shadow of his former self. I worry for him, I really do....

....NOT!!!!

I am SO going to kick his arse

Well you've got one thing right, if we follow the logic, in order to attempt to "kick my arse" at least you acknowledge that you'll be behind me

Just closing in to lap you, perhaps.

(Hasn't some joker done this one before? Ed.)

Is it just me, or is all this banter akin to the preamble to an American Wrestling match?

Rather than race suits, would lycra shorts, oiled six-packs and mullet hair-dos not be more suitable for this encounter

There's an idea for the crowds - why not do the whole nose-to-nose confrontation thing in a ring on race day. Maybe you could add another driver to do the wrestler-in-a-mask thing....

Jeez - I try to avoid this stuff on Sky, and here I am following all the wind-up posts

Its an idea, but I don't think it will work: Ex29/Rodney has a one-pack.

I leave you lot for a few hours in order to get some work done instead of all this chit chat, and what do I find, more insults. Yes, I have a one pack, I'm entitled to it at my age, and anyway the wife thinks it's cute

As for the barrel, that's for cakes.

Big M

I've spent hours trying to get that chap, Lost angel or whatever his name is , to tell you how sorry he was for the insulting post he placed on another forum, I did my best but he wouldn't budge, what a tosser, guess he's no gentleman.

I am however, so I forgive your lapse in hero worship and undying loyalty to the Master, as I put this down to the spell cast on you by the wicked whippersnapper, youth has it's place, but age brings wisdom, calm and understanding.

Forgive them O great god of Tuscan racers, they know not what they do

oooh I feel all guilty now - don't worry - you will both be getting some cake at Thruxton. All the Tuscan drivers are my Heros - especially that tall guy in No 8.

Still think we should hire some 'sumo' suits for you both to fight it out after the race.

Come on guy's lets give no:6 a break here, as this would be something of a busmans holiday for him, I've seen him at work, busy behind a desk full of papers dressed exactly like this Mind you ,the six pack is one of those that you buy in a joke/novelty shop, complete with tuffs of ginger look-a-like hair much the same as that used for troll dolls back in the 70's and 80's

Look Rodney - there's no need to bring Bob Ross into this....

There are two and a half weeks until Thruxton and I thought it might be useful(?) to start speculating wildly about who is going to be on the grid…. Especially now John Reid is back from holidays…

Probables:

2 David Mason
3 Hugh Marshall
4 Bob ‘Ginger’ Ross
5 Gerard ‘Sinatra’ Coakley
6 Andy Holden
7 David Hornsey/Daa’n Dowling
8 The Ex Chairman
9 Mystery driver
10 Tim Hood
16 Rob Stanton
xx Ex 29 and/or the Swedish Chef
38 Lee Caroline
41 Philip Keen
58 Giles Cooper (Mrs Samuelson has just sprogged, so Baldrick is sitting this one out)
77 Richard Hay

Possibles:

99 Richard Stanton
20 Not sure
23 Vacant
28 ????

Oh bu99er - does this mean that I will not be able to add to my photo collection of Baldrick's legs then.

Well at least I got you lot off the RIP thread.
Congratulations to the Samuelsons, hope the poor child doesn't inherit his/her fathers legs though.
So you reckon the duel is going to be "all done with mirrors" do you chaps? We will see, I hope.
Anyhoooo, it will be nice to see a good grid and perhaps Mr. Smolenski will be there and see the sudden rise of interest and "competetive" racing leading him to throw millions into the TVR Motorsport pot as well. A nice fairy cake could sway him too.
Look forward to the toe to toe between Rod and Andy not sure about the lycra though.

With my keen eye for detail, I notice the entry under car no:9.

Now if this was just a possibility then it would have been an entry under that heading, so logicaly you must know that it's a definite drive, but don't wish to let on who it is. Why, well there must be a reason to keep it quiet, a celeb prehaps?, no, you would want to advertise that, a lady driver? no, again that would be news worthy so, what are we left with?

It must be an Ex Tuscan driver of some repute or with a long standing record, I know it's not JCW, and I doubt that it's Michael Caine or Ian McKeller so who else could it be????????????
