Isn't it about the masked was unvieled...about time he surfaced...showed his metal (or fibreglass)...or was it all a figment of No.6's imagination ?????

I agree, about time he revealed himself.

As for my imagination - I'm only reporting what I was told about car No9.....

So which car r u in David ?

I'm taking over Darren Dowlings seat in the no. 7 car as he is on GT duties for the weekend, so I believe. Unfortunately I'm not the 'ringer' even with griff2be's protestations about my 'local knowledge'
Not sure how much that'll help me with my inexperience of the car though

The latest update....

Unfortunately the mystery driver in car No9 has mysteriously withdrawn - which is a shame.

We're hoping for 15-16 cars on the grid though, and it should be a good night on Sunday too

I am just popping down to the chemists, on behalf of griff2be. 5 lb of extra strength bromide please.
We have seen his lust for young girls in short skirts, then the photos of him "taking it up the rear", now it appears he is straying further down this depraved path and wanting Tuscan drivers to reveal themselves.

Would you trust this man with small furry creatures??

Oh, he's answered that himself. Poor, poor, monk-eh

Pssst. Ex29 Is my pre-race psycholology stuff getting him rattled yet?? Someone tall said you would need all the help you could get.

27

Keep it up, and yes, in real terms, both Jan and I will need big time support as we haven't raced since Brands last year, may be a bit rusty.

Don't worry to much, for even with the disadvantage of starting from the back of the grid we'll still get the Monk-eh killer

Anyway, great news, we have been given consent by all parties concerned to share the car provided we start each race from the back of the grid and exclude ourselves from the points and prize monies, so that's that, we will be

Did I mention that the 27 car weighs in at 810 (light) but has 40kls of lead strapped on to bring it to exactly 850

just rigged a charge to each 10kl weight so we can "drop" it if we need more speed, No:6, you're in trouble

Car No 9 "Mysteriously withdrawn"

Was it a Tuscan ??? Or perhaps the first production of the new age of TVR but it won't be properly ready in time ????

Hmmm, curioser and curioser.

Nothing as exciting as that. Simply that the goatee bearded excuse for an ex-Tuscan racer due to be in No 9 changed his mind.

As for you 27 - you can take the weights off before the race as far as I'm concerned - it would only be fair as I'm not carrying as much ballast as you Mind you, that featherweight Smurf should be forced to carry a bit of extra weight

And what's all this 'we're a bit rusty' nonsense. Sheesh, the excuses are starting already:hehe

Have you seen the rain recently? I reckon 27 was outside in one of the downpours and his artificial hip hasn't been quite the same since .

Oooh, you catty buggers.

I hope you lot can "walk the walk" and not just "talk the talk".
"I'll scratch yer eyes out "

Thruxton is shaping up for a real fight, Ex29 and Ex27 storming through from the back of the grid, griff2be racing off into the distance (allegedly) pursued by a pack of "save the monk-ehists". Be fun if "ExCEO" gets his flipflop greeny purple job in the way of No6. It always looked nicer with those blue stripes down the sides/back/front I thought.

Then the newboy trying to keep out of trouble and expense somewhere near the back. Shame Ben(Hur)Samuelson isn't in there too to add a bit of interest, and income to the parts department.

Lee, Richard, Mr.Mason? and Keengreen tussling at the front as per usual, so fun for all the family apparently.

Then the fairy cakes at dawn, the lycra clad toe to toe Good lord, can it get any better ???

Oh yes, and the big session on Sunday night. See who gets the other most to nobble the opposition.

would you blow into this please sir.

I hope that question mark is there cos your looking for the name david and not because you are querying if he'll be there!
He was set to be at thruxton when Ray spoke with him earlier in the week.

As for Ben...I thought he was absent cos he was a new daddy.....(Ahhhhh!) so this quote from the R.I.P thread is interesting....
Only 12 cars, including three entered by TVR Engineering.
If Ben is out and PW is driving No.8 who are the drivers for the other 2?

Official entry list (not that this usually bears any resemblence to reality - I would defer to the Tuscan boys for a more up to date list):-

3 Hugh Marshall
6 Andy Holden
7 David Hornsey
8 Peter Wheeler (TVR Engineering)
10 Tim Hood
20 Pete Osborne
27 Rob Talbot ???
27 Rod Barrett / Jan Persson
38 Lee Caroline
41 Philip Keen
58 Ben Samuelson (TVR Engineering)
77 Richard Hay (TVR Engineering)

When I first saw the list, I thought that it must have been put together before recent events in Blackpool. However Rod and Jan are on the list, so this is obviously not the case. Having two car number 27's out there at the same time could be interesting too .

A number of the teams put in block entries at the beginning of the season before they know if they can do the round or not. Others enter race by race and some entries do not arrive with the organisers before the final instructions go out.

I'm pretty sure that Pete Osborne will not be out and that Jan & Rod are driving Rod Talbot's car (which is Jan's old car)so Rob will not be out. Other possible entries are Darren Dowling & Chris Stockton depending on whether their GT car is ready. Bob Ross (no 4) may also be out and as I said yesterday David Mason (no 2) will definitely be out. Gerard Coakley (No 5) is also not yet on the list & may be out.

There is no mention yet of the De Walt Tuscan or the Peninsula Tuscan both of which have raced this season.
John Reid the TVR Tuscan Co-ordinator indicated to me on the phone on Friday that he expected 16 cars. Other than this we will have to wait and see!

Yup, ? was for will he be there and good news is, yes he will be.

Ben(Hur)Samuelson is playing daddies, so unless he has sweet talked the missus in to letting him out to play Giles Wotsisface will be driving No58.

PW is in No8 and Richard Hay is in 77

No9 has run off to hide again

Ex27 and Ex29 are sharing as already sorted, Hooray, commentators nightmare, anyone want a sweepstake on the number of clangers they drop sorting out who is driving in each race.

All offers subject to status, terms and conditions may apply Could all be tosh, so no change there then.

Has griff2be done his usual stupendously helpful thing and posted a timetable anywhere ????

Griff2be has the 1st provisional timetable dated 28th July on his website but there is now a 2nd "provisional" timetable dated 10th August which says:

Sunday 29th
TVR CHALLENGE QUALIFYING 12:12
TVR CHALLENGE RACE 1 16:50
Monday 30th
TVR CHALLENGE RACE 13 16:55

Don't take that as gospel! Things usually change by the time we get to the circuit!

Andy, you know perfectly well that taxidermist thing with monk-eh won't get past the scrutineers.
John will be looking forward to the cheery "morning Johnny baby" from Monk-eh on Saturday/Sunday morning before sticking that nice peice of white paper on yer transmission housing.

Better start Scooby on a crash course in ventriloquism

Actually they weren't just sightings. Someone pressed Monk-eh's belly and he responded in the normal way.. 'ooh ooh ooh ooh' (think Funky Gibbon).

He's alive and well I tell you *
