Did button, (and presumably Webber and Vettel), save a set of softs in q2?

Vettel in the 1m 30s now. yikes

Button seems to like this track better than Hamilton. It's going to be a close top three!

Button ahead of Hamilton, despite the penalty. Great performance. Hamilton may regret going out first on the scrubbed tyres.

Kobayashi starts 3rd, going to be fireworks at the start if he gets away well, i can see him making a do or die move to give himself a chance of leading/wining his home GP.

Nice job by RBR.

Fantastic performance from Kobi, Grosjean, and Perez. The Japanese fans must be pleased with Kobi's performance. Hoping for a good result from him tomorrow! smile

Could give him a second wind indeed! Gonna be a good start.

Ooh, Koby in trouble? Maybe Jenson as well? No-one is sure.

If they just cancel the times, shouldn't make a difference to JB - was already P3 from his first time

...but - the year there was a shed load of penalties for speeding through a yellow it was grid drops all round

I have no timing screen here, so no idea who was green n that sector, (although Brundle said Koby was).

Am I the only childish person who smirks when they talk about "Spoon" corner!? It's just a silly name!

According to the live timing screen at end of session:

name S1 S2 S3
Vettel 32.3 40.5 17.6
Webber 32.5 40.8 17.6
Button 32.7 40.7 17.7
Kobayashi 32.8 41.1 17.7

so Kobi's s2 is slow... but as they are saying on Sky - could do a green sector but still be 'slower' past the yellow sub-sector
