Looks to me like he tries his best to stay out the way.
Yup. I never saw it as it happened, so strange that he was given a reprimand. Seemed harmless enough, I suppose.

I thought a diplomatic assessment of Georgie's dress sense was better than the usual would you/wouldn't you smash her back doors in debate! As you were though lads! tongue out
AH! Sorry, Haha! I didnt see... my sexist eyes have betrayed me again!

With regards to 'smashing it', well I'm not that kind of guy. I certainly would buy her a nice steak dinner - I'd bring flowers and maybe even write a poem...

Georgie, Georgie... You're so nice.
So much so, I said your name twice.

That's all I've got really, my bags pretty empty after that. Hopefully the steak should be enough, though.

Erm, Vettel to win. Webber to get screwed during pitstops, Grosjean 2nd, Lewis 4th after Alonso.

Well the BBC are pulling out all the stops this weekend rolleyes

STILL non of the 5 live recordings work on the iplayer, and when I popped along to their website to see what time they are showing the qualifying it would seem they don't care much for 'spoiler alerts'...

...Top of the page banner, 3 faces in a post quali interview... not much point in waiting for their show at 1pm today then.

Nice one BBC.

Have a horrible feeling the race may end up with a bit of a bore fest, RBR scamper off up front, the rest down to mid-field struggle to make progress against each other and with a narrow track all the overtaking done in the pits ?
I had a feeling you may be right. frown

Safety car or even rain would be very welcome tomorrow..

I don't understand this. He's been reprimanded for blocking...as in, he was blocking, but no penalty.
What penalty should he have got?

Vergne got a 3-place drop for taking the chicane while Senna was very close behind him, causing Senna to take evasive action to avoid a collision. He caused a very severe impediment and was dangerous as well.

Vettel chose not to turn into the chicane in front of Alonso, and instead kept to the left, allowing Alonso to proceed with only a minor adjustment to his entry line. If Vettel had moved to the right, it would have been worse for Alonso.

Yes, there was some disruption. But if you compare the two cases, it would be ridiculous to give Vettel the same penalty (or even a worse penalty) than Vergne for doing something much less disruptive.

I should have included in my post that I haven't seen the incident, just on SSN that he had been reprimanded for blocking but no penalty.

My comment was purely that in past races, and appears in this one, that if you are blocking and you get reprimanded a penalty follows.

Why include the reprimand, just say they looked at it, he had no other options, move on.

Get real FFS. It's a website, why the hell wouldn't you expect them to have the results!?!

So what's happened with Rosberg's qualifying pace recently. Last season much to my annoyance you could almost be sure he would qualify higher than Schumi.
Does confirm that ( assuming Rosberg is capable of getting the maximum out of the car ) the team are as it stands totally incapable of moving in the right direction.
Hamilton has said he wanted to join a struggling team. He's got the first part right.

you are right, he is in a struggling team, cant see hime getting out of the midfiled next year unless the magic wand has been refilled with fairy dust

as for him wdc hopes, think after this weekend if he doesnt score highly

as in dragens den............... he's out

button has a car that suits him i expect atleast a podium from 8th place

I don't think that shade of lip gloss does her any favours.

Cheers,

With the schedule at the bottom of the page.. and a photo of the 3 top qualifiers as the header image on the same page.. thats REAL good thinking.

Piss poor performance from Hamilton in qualifying. Given that he stiil had a chance of the WDC before this race and all the publicity about his move to Mercedes, his focus should've been all over this weekend. Today's result gives the impression he's relaxed somewhat now he's signed a new contract.

Utter rubbish, he's been up there all weekend. It was a setup error that cost him, not his driving

I thought it was a not odd he went out on scrubbed tyres. Just wondering how much that affected the time?

He may live to regret it, he may not. All we know is he wants a new challenge and Merc were his only option. Come 2014 we'll see where everyone stands.

As for today, I was pretty happy to see Kamui up so high. I'd love it if he could get on the podium at this race. Also hoping to see some good overtaking from Jenson and Fernando. Lewis didn't seem very optimistic so I'll just wait and see with him. Would be nice if Mark could get the jump on Seb at the start.

Yes, well getting the set up "right" is all part of being up there as a great driver isn't it. Button got it right as he did at Spa and Lewis got it wrong, as he did at Spa.

Huh? You missed the live qualifying which is fair enough. If you're going to watch it delayed then the rule is quite simple. Avoid all media. That way you won't get the results. Going to the BBC Sport website, or even the main page, expecting not to see the result is a little bit silly.

I don't think comparing qualifying performances is where you're going to win the argument. I rate them both very highly, but qualifying tends to be stronger for Hamilton.

Lewis blamed himself entirely for the setup change, he had an issue and thought he could fix it with a change, he was wrong. I think I'm right in saying its one of his worst qualifying performances ?
