Aren't modern day race cars meant to be quite a handful when there is no more adhesion?

As in a boolean grip/no grip condition.

Now running 4th overall in the race and punching far above its BHP!

No, a good car should give the driver a good idea of where the limit of grip is and be 'catachable'. Early radial tyres did tend to let go quite suddenly but things have moved on.

I have given the DW a fair amount of the stick over the last year, quite liked this shirt though. Fair play to them.

I've got one of those T-shirts smokin

This is the "elsewhere". Originally I believe it was an idea for indycar.
Indeed. The IRL folks had a competition for a new spec chassis and the Deltawing (as a single seater) was one of the suggestions. Ben Bowlby designed Indy cars at Lola before moving to the USA. He's designed very successful (OK, it was virtually one make) conventional Indy cars before moving onto more interesting ideas with the Deltawing.

The IRL went with another 'Dullara' chassis and the Deltawing moved on.

Porsche driver drifted and recovered, arguably not enough counter-steer or awareness of whats around him, great shame to see accidents like that in testing glad no one was hurt. Deltawing is still brilliant!

I can't believe no one has mentioned the result at petit, 5th overall in a car which everyone said would never turn a corner is brilliant! I have to say I was a very big doubter to start off with but as an engineering exercise I love the car to bits

Hugely impressed with the car's performance. Half the fuel, half the tyres. Yes please.

It finished unclassified, not 5th. Half the weight, half the tyres, half the fuel etc etc is not a new concept.

Ah but that won't have been his fault either, I bet.

The Porcine one was clearly recovering from another tail wag. This is an intended function of the design, meant to slow the vehicle, and can in no way have been driver error.

(FTAOD I am joking and have seen no video evidence of this but am simply putting time - served trust in woteva 911 it was)

I'd either call it a racing incident or 70:30 Nissan's fault.

Why's that then? Hasn't the Porsche driver already admitted being at fault because he didn't see it inside him?

I only caught sight of the incident briefly yesterday. But, didn't the commentators say that the Nissan had cut across the exit from the pits and that the drivers had been specifically told not to do this?
