...............

I would like to thank all the Tuscan Drivers for a really entertaining year of Tuscan Challenge.

...............

Tuscan racing is one of the very best spectator sports and every credit to the drivers who make it worthwhile for us to travel to tracks far and wide.

We are always made to feel most welcome in all the pit areas by the teams and drivers, special thanks to Nick, David and Hugh and with Andy and Ted arranging the Insane Racing hospitality, it has been really great...thanks for that.

Rod and Andy's ridiculous banter has kept us entertained and I am really sorry that the season has finished.

Whilst I don't want to start another debate on the future of Tuscans, I am pleased to hear that a solution to keep them racing has been suggested and I really hope we see all the Tuscan drivers back, whatever the model, next year.

Well done.....many thanks from us all at Mid Essex...although I'm sure that I could speak for most on this.

oops - hope that wasn't the after effects of two pieces of my apple cake.

I can only echo what Yellow Peril has said. Thanks guys for treating us to some entertaining racing throughout the year. Miles better that watching F1 any day. Does anyone know if they will release a video/DVD of the racing. Some of us haven't got Sky and I would love to see the whole season again.

Hope to see you all again in 2005.

Not at all dear lady, it gave me the courage needed to keep going in the second race, when I should have come in after the green flag

Never have I driven such a dangerous car, It was trully awfull, found out later that the rear left wheel was broken, the tyre was deflating, and the front left wishbone, which was second hand and bent when we put it on, had snapped again on the leading edge

So, James, 132mph in the speed trap on the main stright in a car in the above condition, driving like a stuck pig having a fit wasn't bad, or prehaps you could have done better?????????????

In keeping with the topic of this thread, I too would like to thank all involved with the TVR Challenge for a very entertaining season.

I would also like to thank No29 and Monk-eh's Uncle, No6, for keeping us entertained with their banter on here.

I have also picked up some rather scrummie cake ideas, but those chocolate muffin jobbies at Knockhill were by far the best.

Lets hope the new look Challenge is as good. See you all next year then.

Thanks to Insane for their hospitality this season. Having a nice tent^h^h^h^h awning to lurk in and meet up with PHers made this season particularly enjoyable.

Evening all...

....stuck working away at the moment, in some god awful hotel near Sheffield

Anyway, having now completed my first season in Tuscans, a few thank yous are in order....

Firstly to the other teams and drivers, who make the whole thing so much fun, help each other out, have a few(hic) beers but fight hard and cleanly on track. (Except Peter that is - :bastard:)

Next, my sponsors - David and Lisa from IMR, Simon and Jules from Leven Technology, James Aggro and Stuart and Lisa from Auto Identity Registration Auctions - without their support I could not have been out there at all

Then Steve Howard - who got No6 back out on the grid after 3 nasty incidents, when most teams would have put the car in the truck and gone home. Also to Abi who worked tirelessly all year, and to Douggie and various other helpers during the year

PetrolTed has helped me in my quest for sponsors

The boys from TVR have helped me out of one or two fixes and always been willing to lend a hand

Gerard, my team mate - who richly deserved his 8th and 9th places at Brands - well done mate

Of course Uncle Rodney deserves a special mention (special needs)) - thanks for your support this year, old chum. Pity the Swedish Chef pranged the motor in race one - otherwise I think you'd have whipped my butt in Race 2. If you need to borrow a gearbox next year, just say the word

And lastly, but most importantly - all those people who come along and support us so well It is so great to see those flags, chat to you all before and after the races - share the odd cake or two (thanks Debs). It's been brilliant.

All in all, I have had a great year. Brands was a bit disappointing for one reason or another, but I'm delighted to get 6th place in the championship - and I'll do all I can to race a TVR next year

Which brings me back to those nice sponsors.....

It's just gone passed 01:00 am, and another racing season has come and gone, how depressing is that!!!!

We only did the last three Tuscan races, but it was great to be back, well done whippersnapper, 6th is one place higher then I ever got, and In your first full season, that's me boy , I taught him everything he knows, and now he's a great driver, must make me close to brilliant

Thanks for all the support, kind words, and CAKES and sorry if I missed anyone or appeared to be distracted or busy if you tried to talk to me, it wasn't intentional, but I was having to get far more involved then we were used too when we ran with Colin Blower, his boys did all the work!!!!!

We will start on plans for next season, may have to re-start Hawthorns Motorsport as a full race team again, too bloody expensive funding it yourself, we've got two/three new sponsors lined up,and two new drivers who want to go racing, more whippersnappers , so lets hope TVR get the show on the road and come up with a great new series that we can all support........... otherwise, it's GT cup as Jan wants to buy a Mustang, these Sweds love yank tanks, so don't let me down TVR, and save me from having to drive an "Ascar"

Oh, and whoever it was who asked me if I was happy with my tyre choice just before the last race, make yourself known, I need you on the team, as I'm losing the ability to make the right tyre choice, and you put it in such a nice way, as soon as you said it I knew I'd got it wrong again. As it turned out tyres weren't the issue as the rear left wheel was broken and within a lap the front wishbone snapped again

See you all soon

Only made three meets this year, the least by far since I started following the Tuscans in '99.

I have loved the series, and am glad to hear TVR racing at this level has a future. I look forward to something to match or even better those head spinning days of 30-ish grids!

Meanwhile, I'll join the for this season: thanks to all the racers and teams for the entertainment, and to Andy, Ted and Steve Howard for the welcome in the Insane Racing awning, and to PH for keeping me in touch with what's happening.

Next year's resolutions: get to more races, and eat a piece of this famous cake!!

Hi Jeremy,

I think you should replace me, why not take it up I have a Race Tuscan and truck/transporter which i can do you a good deal on, but the tuscan needs a new wheel and a wishbone, and a driver that can choose the right tyres, the trucks fine.

Such kind words, and of course you're right, I'm just too good and not quite old enough to give up yet

We will be back full time for 2005 as I still have a responsiblity for No:6 and his continued training, got to stop him crashing all the time

He did have the best arse at Brands (with the possible exception of PW and his magical gisoms)

Lots of to all the teams and especially Andy, David, Hugh and Rod. It makes a good series even greater whe you can chat with the people involved.

P.S. No27/29 taught me everything he knows about tyre choice. I got it wrong in both races at Brands. One race at Oulton, one of the Thruxton races...... you taught me well, master...

Tyre choice is lesson 212, we are only on lesson 25
