Our Noige saves the British GP
Discussion
I went to Silverstone a few years ago to watch the Final of the British Gts. Brtish GT's including a NIGHT race, F3's, Tuscans and oodles of support races all for £25.
Now remind me again why people pay £150 to watch F1.
Silverstone is a great track and tearing it up to satisfy bernies charade is as bad as paying £9M to host it in the first place.
If bernie wants to boycot the Uk, then F*** Him!
Edited to add.
It wouldn't surprise me if Bernie didn't approach Rockingham, afterall, they have new top class facilities.

So to my mind if the brdc cannot make money and indeed risk their existance by running it, should they let it pass... motor racing is bigger than one man opps i mean race...
Funnily enough I agree with you - after 12 years with one dispute after another I'm heartily sick of the whole thing.
The only problem is the effect on the motor racing industry. I'm not clever enough to know if it will be as bad as the pundits say, but we've already thrown away so much of our know-how in this country that I'm a bit worried about the risk.
Not entirely convinced about the Mansell thing either.
I'm concerned that the Mansell consortium is simply playing into Bernie's hands.
Mr. Ecclestone knows how important many people consider Silverstone and the British GP to be, and all this posturing and leaving the British GP off the provisional 2005 calendar (and let's not forget it is provisional) is to get someone to cough up the ridiculous fee he demands (I believe £9M has been mentioned?)
What I find incredulous is that not only does Bernie get the TV rights, the advertising, etc. etc., leaving the venue with just the gate fees and concessions (greasy burgers to you and me) but he demands £9M from the venue as well! Unbelievable.
