2016: BMW M6 GT3
Discussion
hi guys,
i just read that BMW will build a new GT3 Car. The new "base" will be the M6.
What do you think? Will be the M6 a good car to build a GT3 version of it?
In my opinion the M6 is just too big for the GT3-Class a M2/M4 would fit better and the thing i really liked about the Z4 GT3 was the sound. Hope they will achieve a similar sound for the M6 GT3.

Alpina already build a M6 GT3 version back in 2009. Didnt like that car back in the days.

Is that Barry from Watford? Sorry.Would have thought the M6 too heavy a donor car. Guess they'll have to replace a lot of the panels with carbon fibre to get the weight down.

If Bentley can get the Continental to be a competitive proposition, BMW shouldn't struggle to do likewiseWould have thought the M6 too heavy a donor car. Guess they'll have to replace a lot of the panels with carbon fibre to get the weight down.

Alpina managed it with the last shape 6-series:Would have thought the M6 too heavy a donor car. Guess they'll have to replace a lot of the panels with carbon fibre to get the weight down.
It was pretty successful once they'd got a sensible BoP.
Here's a shot to show it was competitive:
Though it did have superstar Maxime Martin driving it then, which helped a bit.
