Give it up Jimmie, you're not an Indycar racer.

No mucking around behind the SC in IndyCar at the end - they know how to give the fans what they want.....

Oohhh that’s a horrible impact, head on at 200mph. Thankfully he’s okay.

Indycar has adopted a policy of red flagging the Indy 500 if there is a crash in the last few laps so for the spectacle it doesn't finish boringly under a safety car.

Who's your money on? If Kanaan wins this I will explode with joy I think!

Yep, no reason for the red flag, other than not wanting to finish under yellow.

General question: Considering the drivers are going around with their foot flat to the floor most of the time, how would a driver make up a 4 second gap? I don't really see how a driver makes up that time without a lot of drafting and someone making a mistake.

This is where F1 gets itself in pickle and makes a mess by trying to have a "show" like IndyCar, but knowing that racers and teams would rebel - IndyCar just goes we're not finishing under yellow, so we'll RF it, don't care what purists think.

Why don't they just run the race over 5 laps and forget about all the boring other ones? Every other crash brings out yellows but they artificially fudge with things when close to the end
Guess we know where and why F1 is heading. Under Liberty

Because the largest daily ticketed audience for any annual sporting event worldwide, wouldn’t turn up for a 5 lap race? biggrin

Yep. I was there, and said at the time that’s exactly what they should have done.

I bet they really wanted to, though, hence all the flapping.....

Oh well done indeed, shook off O'Ward, great driving on the last lap, really aggressive will to win, nice one and a couple of million dollars to boot!
