I think Ganassi has reiterated that Palou will be driving for them next year.

And McLaren listing him on their F1 testing team.

National anthem time if anyone needs a reminder - race due off in some indeterminate number of minutes - indyCar really don't operate to the second like F1....

Star Spangled Banner first despite being in Canada.

Only the US would do that. They are a bit very jingoistic nation, a Mexican restaurant in the US hung a Mexican flag and a US flag outside it's premises, the Mexican flag was higher than the US one and they got a lot of abuse. But go to another country and the US comes first.

I've lost count of the amount of overtakes in this race!

It was a quietly effective win from Dixon, amongst a lot of scruffy / poor decisions from others towards the back.

Never put a foot wrong or looked out of line at any point.

Grosjean looked desperate all race. Ericsson showing class.

Ilott was last and a lap behind at one stage but managed to finish 14th.

Jimmie Johnson really needs to give it up.

Decent weekend for Jimmie. Ovals are unsurprisingly better for him.

Josef must be the coolest geezer in USA.

Jimmie drove like a man possessed, properly entertaining. It was cool to see him push the car and put the willies up some of them.

Thought Callum Ilott drove very well and consistently both races, considering his limited oval experience and the tiny JHR team.

I'd forgotten about this comment, but I believe that in the USA it is illegal to fly a flag next to the stars 'n' stripes that is either higher or larger.

Astonished the team didn’t tell him to drop back behind Ericsson at the end, that’s not how you win Championships

Perhaps they did! I don't think he would have listened. hehe

Except in Texas I believe.

I was surprised at the stat last week that Scott Dixon has matched the all-time record of Indycar wins with 52. But he has won 6 championships. Seems like a low wins:championships ratio which may indicate how unpredictable the races are.

If you are comparing it to F1 (say) there are more drivers & fewer races in Indy.

But yes, there's a greater spread of winners.

A great weekend for O'Ward, right back in it again. He just needs some more reliability and he's got a chance of some really good Superlicence points. Given Herta likely won't have enough at least at the end of this season, could he end up at McLaren F1 at some point?

I am, but it's not just about the recent expansion of the F1 calendar.

For example, Michael Schumacher has 7 world titles and 91 wins.
