It was vey hot here yesterday and will be again for the next few days. Storms are forecast for the weekend though. Great job by Hinch yesterday and by Newgarden who almost snuck the pole. Great for Sam Schmidt too. If I were a betting man I might put a few $ on Aleshin. That guy is determined!
The track is sold out for the race.

Just saw the post from Indy Car that the Indy 500 is sold out.
There will be more people at the race than the population of Pittsburg or St Louis!
Am I correct that the Indy 500 is the worlds largest single sporting event by attendance?
I believe that to be the case, yes. Capacity of 400,000 or something daft like that. There will be more people at the race than the population of Pittsburg or St Louis!

Live Thursday non-running as it's dark and wet - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19803lIsbNk
It's pissing down with rain in Indy right now as a thunderstorm goes over. It's also stinking hot and humid as hell. Forecast for race day is similar, although they're saying rain will come after the race. However, it's well know that weather forecasters here never forecast rain for the race for fear of being fired!
As has been mentioned (in fact I mentioned it on Moday ) it's more or less completely sold out, 350,000 people expected by the weekend. For the first time in 50 years Hoosiers will be able to watch it live on tv as the blackout has been lifted.
