Same for Justin Wilson with a detached wheel from Sage Karam's car.
I believe it was the front wing wasn't it? Either way, not something you want to be hitting at 200+ mph.

So many braking issues entering the pits today, Hunter-Reay just now, that's 4.

Yep we are synchronised, just opened mine, although the one I started with was only half full. Would love to see Castroneves win this.

Wouldn't want to be a mechanic working in the first few spots on pit lane.

That’s spooky. My first one was about half full too

Trying to keep track of things - how did Veekay end up down in 13th?

Well done Helio. Would have liked one of the kids to win but Helio is a legend here.

Four years off 50 and you smash the Indy 500 when you're not even an Indycar driver any more! Fantastic performance, and great credit to Palou and O'ward. Will Power is great by the way.

Henry was hit on the head by a wheel/tyre that came off another car. Can't happen now.
It (still) can if the wheel isn't fitted properly/securely after a pit-stop for tyres.
It cant hit the driver now, that's the whole point of the Halo/Aeroscreen.

Yeah man, experience is everything. The young 'uns might be a couple of tenths faster, but if you've got the experience it can be worth more.

I only started watching IndyCar because it came with the Sky Sports F1 package, but at least once they line up on the grid you have no idea who is going to win.

Scott Dixon was down in 13th I think?

Yes. Came from a lap down and then at one stage was a contender for the win but drifted back for some reason. No way in current F1 if you’re a lap down do you stand a chance of scoring points let alone win.

So much of the 500 is down to luck with flags though, it is worse than F1 in that regard.

Still enjoyed today though, really good at the end I thought.
