Rover Tuscan ,original dry sump pan, original pump . I have a 72 square tooth 19mm wide oil pump belt I need to replace. Having no luck finding it, as my belt has no markings on it. My local factors are stumped at the moment. Does any one know a part number for this length belt please.

I may have one Perry. I'll have a look tomorrow. I got mine from my local bearing merchants. I think it's a gates belt.

Perry you will need to determine length of belt too. Easiest way is put some string tound then measure it. Then whatever your length is I imagine it will then be followed by L (to denote thr type of tooth) and then 075 (to denotr 19mm or 3/4" wide). Most bearing/engineering suppliers will be able to sort, if not give me a ring and I will help you!

Dave.

L denotes the pitch of the tooth on the belt.

As a start Id guess at a 275L075 wpuld be a good starting point. However, if you give me number of teeth of each pulley wheel and distance betwen pulley centres I can work it out for you.

Morning Dave,

I don't have the engine pulley at the moment as I am having a new engine built for next year and it has gone with the crank and damper to be balanced . I will measure all the dimension's and post them up later from the belt see if that helps . I take it pitch is between the teeth ? I can't see it being the part number you suggest as the L075 depicts it as three quarter of an inch wide and I know mine is 20mm ?

If I under stand you Paul the pitch is the distance between teeth ?

Yes, pitch is the distrance between the centre of the teeth on the belt
With is not an issue, they are cut from a sleeve so isn't a major issue

Perry 19mm is 3/4 inch. You can get half, 3/4 or inch wide mate so it will be the 075. Mine is square toothed pulley and ends L075 (from memory mine is 215L075). You just need to work out the length now (or measure an old belt).

Here ya go perry. This is what I had.

I've got my spare but its not new. Should be the same as yours. 72 teeth, 3/4" wide, 27" long, 0.37" pitch.

Hi Dave

Who works in inches any way LOL biggrin I have all the measurements you need I think 27inch long, pitch 0.355
(centre of tooth to centre of tooth), width 0.75, thick 0.075.

Chanty,

Thanks for that link spot on mate, although that part number does not relate to the one Dave Stewart's on about or am I been thick. I will get that one if consensus says to push the "buy it now" button.

Hi Perry.

The way the work is the first number (275) is the length (27.5inches) L is the style of belt and 075 is the width (3/4 inches). So if yours is 27inches long then the 270 should be the right one!
