Nice pics again, I think this is easily the best looking car on the grid. I really struggle taking pictures of it though
I think the fact it's so reflective might through your camera's auto exposure off, that's why I resort to Manual exposure - otherwise pics with light coloured cars come out under exposed and cars that are black means the rest of the photo is slightly blown out. Some luck is involved too acer12 said:
Thanks for the reply(wasn't expecting one hence the snotty post from me!).
Good idea, seconded! As the chap who writes the BTCC reports, I'll happily drop into the forums during the weekend - and field any questions when I'm at the races myself. See you for some BTCC gassing next time round at Oulton!

Thanks for the tip. I will have a go with manual at Oulton. Counting the days alreadyVictoriaYorks said:

If the light remains fairly consistent it works well, otherwise I'll set the camera to Auto ISO if there's rapidly moving cloud to make sure I don't end up with duff shots. Just a case of experimenting and see what works best for you.I won't spam the thread with my pictures but the album is here if anyone wants to take a look: https://www.flickr.com/photos/janesyb/albums/72157...
Same old, same old! Matt Neal crashes and blames anyone else he can think of! Until he is reintroduced to the world of reality at least!
Only thing missing was Plato moaning about the RWD advantage - but doesn't he have RWD this year? Well, yes but his doesn't work, so much safer for everybody else!
Well done Rob Collard - I've watched him racing for about 30 years from the days of hot rods on short circuits. I really hope he has a good season, plus he only lives down the road!

Didn't want to talk about the Church incident until after this weekend, but did you get to see if they had made any improvements to the safety the corner?
There is a more substantial barrier there now although it doesn't exactly look FIA spec from a distance! The runoff still drops away though which is the other issue, apparently they are looking to reprofile it but there are 'field mice' which is causing an environmental issue...I just want to say that after over 30 years of being a F1 follower, watching the BTCC and supporting races is amazing; overtaking, sliding, real cut and thrust, close racing that is just not there with F1.
I've invested a bit of time watching the first couple of rounds I'm now starting to have a few "favourites" in all the different races, including the support races and I'm literally on the edge of my seat and holding my breath at times! My wife used to find me asleep in front of the F1 more often than not and I'd have to rewind and watch most of it again!
Even the 16 year olds have more to say about the races they have just run than todays f1 "superstars" and it's great to hear such a frank exchange of views, and then the occasional apology... real guys, true gents it seems.....
But the main thing is the racing... I can't believe how exciting it is!
I can't wait to spend some more time becoming a more informed spectator, why didn't I do this years (decades) ago?

33,000 was the weekend attendance for Thruxton. That's quite impressive.
Very impressive given sunday figure was 27,000 wouldn't have wanted to be leaving the circuit though. Just shows that the btcc has produced a good rule set with a good support package and its bringing in the crowd. Ive never know a season where the new drivers are at the front and battling with the experienced drivers and not letting them go by. We have a genuine 15 cars that could get a win and im sure the 2 subarus of turks/plato will get a win a piece later on in the year.
7 different winners from 9 rds and no double wins for drivers either only downsides I think os the soft tyre but that might have just been the cold weather at Donny.
Oulton park should see an even bigger crowd expect if good weather well over 40k attendance and hopefully Subaru getting more competitive.
Loved the reference to barging in Race 1 and P*att Neal coming through to lead the race - wouldn't have happened if Plato had been around!
But when Neal got a puncture there was still a proper crash without Plato, so not all bad for a non-contact formula!
Really pleased for Rob Collard - used to watch him on the short circuits years ago when a mate of mine was racing 1600cc Hot Rods at the same time Rob was.
Loved his performance at Wimbledon recently - even if the "fun police" apparently didn't!
Rob has started the season well - I hope it continues that way.

Dormice if you don't mind! In a venue less than a mile from the Hawk Conservancy...
But it does limit what can be done and how quickly because of the surveys etc etc
