The 3rd Eurotech car was a shell built up that they had spare, the Dynamics car was a separate car all together.
Although technically, the Eurotech cars are Dynamics cars as Dynamics built all 6 shells in question.

I'm well aware... didn't realise thereally was a need to be pedantic about things.

That's correct. Aiden has been testing the BMR car to see if he thinks it's good enough to bring into the Laser Tools Racing stable for 2017. No decisions have been made yet however.

I loved all the Facebook fanfare that Aiden was suddenly going to Subaru biggrin

At the moment the 3rd car is being built as a spare shell, outside chance Jordan could end up in it but if it's anything like last year the whole Pirtek naming and livery may stop that deal.

As someone in the know, how much credibility is there in the rumours of four different new manufacturer entries for next year? Vauxhall, KIA, Renault and Alfa apparently all being talked to if you look on other sites...

It's always the same gossip every year, KIA and Vauxhall I'm sure have both stated they've no intention to enter officially, someone did do a mockup of a Megane in 2014 but it came to nothing, haven't seen or heard anything regarding an Alfa though, it'd require someone with a large budget to even bother one I think, can't see there even being any sort of parts discount where needed from them.

How much do Honda and Subaru spend? BTCC doesn't seem like a safe bet for manufacturer teams any more (a good thing, imo) because the rules don't allow you to throw money at a car until it wins.

Don't know on Subaru but Dynamics throw around half a million a year at each car, around 650k if you want to buy a seat in the car ala Andy Neate last year.

Team Dynamics is owned by the Neal family so I'm sure they spend their own money on racing. If you meant Honda, £500k is bugger all if it includes the shells and some spare parts. It's a long way from the glory days of dumping £3-4 million a season into running around at the back.

Honda /Dynamics are one and the same. Only racing cash that comes out of the Neal family bank account is the historic stuff they've been doing for the last few years. BTCC is a bargain for a manufacturer to enter now, the big cost when it comes to development would be the engine as a manufacturer entry isn't going to want the spec TOCA lump under there even if it was more than a tad biased in the power stakes last season.
It was well known that the best package on paper last year was the Eurotech Honda, best chassis with it being the Civic but best motor under the bonnet with them running the TOCA engine. Sadly there seems to be a certain lack of attention to detail when it comes to car prep in the team, no one else had wheels falling off left right and centre.... plus the drivers aren't what you'd call front running.

It was certainly interesting - but not too surprising - to see what a more talented driver was able to do with the Eurotech car, even if it was just for a few races. I'd have thought there'd be a lot of interest in getting someone useful into that car.

There's at least 2 or 3 drivers who could've been champion last season if they'd been in that car. Jordan being one of them, I'd say Ingram would've been up there more consistently in that car aswell.
