This was a really good day. Thrilling racing and some very friendly pit crews too.
Agreed. Nice to be able to wander in and out of the garages without getting glared at as if you're some sort of alien!
Shame some of the cars didn't show (the Corvette, Falcon, 635 and a few of the M3s). The DTM Astra was quite a spectacular newcomer, especially when it had it's two spins at Copse on one of the Marcos's fluid. Top Cats racing have certainly got their work cut out before the next round judging by the state of the 42 car that biffed the pit wall...
The F40 looked a mess after losing a rear wheel (below, pre race) and John Clonis' 911 wasn't in the best of health either after an off.
Top marks to the PH-supported Class C Civic of Ben Salmons/Ed Pead which had a storming battle with Rick Kraemer's Class B Focus in the Production S1 race. Very entertaining.
Moore Motorsport boys: Very camera shy! Didn't realise one of you was a PHer or I'd have said hi! That really is some rear wing...
Will post some race pics when I get the disc back and if they're any good!
i was there as well
Excellent day out with some really good racing especially between the frog island sponsored civic pictured above and a focus. The race between the integra and the BMW for the race win was down to about 10secs at the end in the production s1 class.
I was watching from the inside of copse during qualifying when the marcos dropped it's oil, and lost count of the cars that spun/had problems.
The F40 did look a bit of a mess after losing its wheel, and also the exige which i believe caught fire, as i saw them washing it down in the pits, dont know if they were trying to get it back on track, as i couldnt stay for the second hour of the last race.
hopefully i will get along to some further rounds.

We had a fantastic day in Britsports,i managed to win the first 45min race(by 2.5 seconds nice and close) then my dad got into the car for the second 45mins and managed a 5th place which gave us 3rd overall, so a podium place on are first drive in the new car, just hope we can do as well at Brands in 3 weeks time.

Is it this one? If so, great drive in the first race. Radical SR8s weren't quite as quick as I thought they'd be compared to the Junos and your Jade although Demetriou was mighty in the second race until he got black-flagged.
See you at Brands. I'll come and say hello.
Yes Gary thats us(Jade 3.5ltr 360bhp) Thanks for the kind words about the first race, must say we are very happy with the pace of the car as it was it first race with the new engine, and the first time ive driven the car, look forward to seeing you at Brands.
Chris.

This is presumably the inter-Ferrari battle you're referring to, Nutskie. Lots of rear drive power accelerating out of a damp hairpin is usually fairly entertaining!
Incidentally, who bent the front panel of your car then?
Still, at least it's not quite as bent as the F40...
...and finally a few of the better race pics from Saturday. Roll on Brands (maybe a few fewer fences and loudspeakers to get in the way of my photography!)
It's that wing again!!
See you at Brands!

nice pics,
any more of the Elise (mine) on track?
Sorry, Simon, not on this roll. I'll have a look when I get the second film developed (still in the camera!) 'cos I ran quite a few pics off when I moved from Copse to Farm/Abbey after the rain. Haven't upgraded to digital SLR yet! If not, I'll make sure I get a couple at Brands for you.
BTW, top work getting the car healthy. Read about your dramas at the test day. Is your Elise the one with the Honda Type-R engine?

no problem, not got *any* yet....be nice to have a few.
will be launching the 'Team-Scandal' website next week and could do with so pics for it.
Mine is the one with the Honda engine, currently it's just a stock EU spec version, the plan was to use this for testing then change to the race engine for the first round, but what with everything else, it's not got changed out yet, I hope to get this done for Brands if we can get though tyre testing...
I was racing in Britsport that day - black and silver Radical Prosport. Had a great second race as I was in a tussle with an SR4 the whole way and finally overtook him witha couple of laps to go.
It was my first race in the Prosport - and had only driven it for less than 30 mins before getting on the grid...so a nervy few laps when the lights went out!
Was pleased to finish 8th overall and am hoping for a better showing at Brands on the 16th.
If anyone has any photo's of the car, give me a shout as I'm keen to see what it looks like in action!
