Oh dear, not good. Yet another event pulling the plug....Just where will it end?? Where is the strong, proactive leadership from the governing body?
It'll end once the FAI in Scotland concludes that forest rallying is far too dangerous and the MSA decide to only issue permits for rallies that are held on race circuits. And there's no way I'm driving for 3-4 hours to watch rally cars skid around some cones. I don't mind it at my local venue at Smeatharpe, but not at a circuit, where I expect you'll end up penned in..
With the Somerset at best taking a year off the only other event in southern England is the Wyedean stages, which this year clashes with the RAC rally. Amazing planning.

I was as concerned about the spectators as I was the crews, I just don't get how insane fans are in Poland!
It seems certain now that Poland will lose it's WRC round. But instead of being replaced by New Zealand, which everyone wants, it will be so by either Turkey or Croatia, which no fan wants!

did you make that Ally??So Germany starts Thursday. who do we fancy? Thierry goes well on tarmac, Ogier obviously as long as the car holds together. Elfyn is better on tarmac than i think many realise. Dani is always strong on tarmac i just don't think his hearts in it anymore. Then we have the boys in the C3 if Loeb and any changes he identified helped then either of them could do it on the tarmac, Kris not so strong but candidate for the podium.
Gotta say I'm loving how open this years championship is and not already wrapped up by this point by VW & Ogier
I'm going
Ogier, Nuville, Evans. Hoping 2 out of 3 ain't gonna be bad

I wish Meeke could also go for more than a Rally without binning it. Unreal..

I see news of the 2018 BRC and National Tarmac championship have been greeted with the usual tumbleweed in here
Never mind, it's not long until the Mull Targa/ Sprint.
Well, when the WRC can struggle to get interest, there's little hope of anything else getting comments. And to be fair, the BRC (and most UK Rallying) is pretty much anonymous. Needs far more promotion.Never mind, it's not long until the Mull Targa/ Sprint.

Not sure Ogier will walk this one, I don't rate the Ford (well not in SO's hands anyway) so I think Neuville has to be favorite. Citroens will most likely still be struggling (Loeb involvement or not) Dani could get a podium, Paddon? Win it, bin it or break it....
Tanak and Evans ? I'd say they too could be right up at the sharp end.
Meeke (AKA the Irish Kubica) Who knows, I think his goose is cooked
Breen ? It'll be interesting to see what he can do in what is clearly a poorly designed and/or developed car.
I was supposed to be going to Germany this year, but other stuff cropped up, though judging by the negative comments from the drivers regarding the re-hashed route, maybe it's just as well I didn't go.
