They could use the design a bit further west and call it the Circuit of Northern Ireland perhaps? It would certainly be affordable then , thanks to Mrs May's new found money tree - the one she denied existed pre election ........
Indeed. If Plaid Cymru had played the same game as the DUP, it'd have been built by the summer, have a 400 year MotoGP and F1 deal and prize money provided by the English NHS

But thankfully, they didn't

How on earth did Circuit of Wales manage to get the rights to MotoGP for five years, with an option for a further five? What did they do, hypnotise them? And who paid for it? The Welsh Council?

"Hi Carlos (Ezpeleta). We want MotoGP for 10 years."

"Sure, lets a have look at your circuit"

"Ummm....we dont have one. Or the land, or any interested backers. But here's a million bucks, take the wife somewhere nice"

"Grazi, I'll send the paperwork over."

A white elephant that should shame the Welsh Government.

I happened to watch some of the Sennedd discussion yesterday and I from what I gathered there were huge issues with the way the finance deal was structured; the main one being if the backers reneged on payment then the Welsh Gov't's guarantee kicked in but Aviva took 100% ownership.

At least that's what I understood the First Minister to say.

That was my read of it as well. No wonder they wanted nothing to do with it any more.

Looked like Welsh government would end up forking out something like £210M on failure of the project at any stage, but having no rights to either the land or any facilities created up to that point.
