Thoughts are with Billy monger at this time. Horror crash. Hopefully his injuries aren't too serious and it won't affect his racing career going forwards. frown

eek That was horrible! Fingers crossed he's ok but I don't like the sound of sheets going round the car frown
Holding the sheets is quite normal for an etracagion like this.

Too many wanting to film the poor chap.

Yeah, guess you are probably right - my first though was major injuries to his legs. Really hope that's not the case though.

Watching the Morgan overtake again, not sure why the stewards had a dim view? Was in control at all times and less than 50% of the car was off the circuit, due to shedden pushing him out

I'm waiting for a complaint by Honda/ Shedden about the overtake on the grass........ wink
Don't know if there was a complaint, but the stewards did take a dim view; Morgan penalised half a second for passing on the grass, and dropped down to eighth.
Harsh penalty; I thought it was a good, and certainly exciting overtake.

Normal procedure ,gives the casualty a bit of privacy and also a bit of dignity .
He probably has or will have to have clothing removed . It also stops the gouls getting a view .It is also used on breezy days for obvious reasons.

Sheets round the car is generally standard practice when I driver is being treated in car - all it really tells you is the driver is still in the car. I have seen it used over relatively nothing, as a just in case measure. Just gives the medics and driver a bit of privacy.

That was a horrible, horrible impact. Everything crossed he is ok.

It sounds like there has been progress now.

On another note, if I were the race director I would have had the whole field in the Clio Cup in my office for a field wide bking. Just abysmal standards all round. Calm down, grow up, know their limitations

It was great overtake and a terrible decision by the stewards. There were plenty incidents more deserving of penalties in that race.

It's been a long time since I've seen a single-seater submarine under the back of another car, usually go over the top. The safety of cars these days is incredible and I hope the long delay is just a precaution.

Exactly!! Shedden pushed him across the track - just what was he supposed to do? Disappear.... Stewards being utter arses as usual.

I guess it is all about track elevation. If you have that kind of impact on an incline, would physics rule that the car is more likely to submarine than take flight?

Is it just me or has the coverage been very censored today? No replays of any of the BTCC incidents. Jordan/Epps in race one, car loosing a wheel? The MG's coming togeather. Jordan and Jackson in race 2.
