I think they have, but not consistently used.The gyroscopic ones on MotoGP bikes are even better - rotate and keep the horizon level.

Yes but that's 500 miles of full throttle, max revs. A Le Mans engine is constantly on and off the throttleMax in a good place for the win depending on restart. But I'm going to support Jones as the newbie and Brit.
General views on watching properly for the first time is it has been interesting, but now I know the race up to around lap 140 is pointless then it might be less interesting. Seems it's down to luck if you get enough fuel saving from yellows to "jump" position for the last pit stop(s).
