Went out to a car show near Exeter and it seems I missed quite an ending to the Gt class!!

Hit to admit I felt the prototype battle pretty poor compared to recent years. They definitely need to work on attracting more top teams and making sure the new privateer class can be competitive.

Enjoyable race - lots of drama. And a battle right down to the last lap in the GTE-Pro class - and LMP2 cars 2nd & 3rd overall.

And the winning car losing about a hour in the pits but still being able to win; and it wasn't really in doubt even with the LMP2 car in the lead. To me that's slightly disappointing. But well done to all connected with the #2 Porsche.

Personally, I think there needs to be a major rethink on the the future LMP1 regs - and I know about the announcement on Friday, but on RLM Sam Collins commented that the regs hadn't been thought through.

Le Mans needs to become like the VLN and Nurburgring 24 hr race, real cars and two hundred plus on the grid.

LMP1 class is just suffering a slow painful death at the moment with minimal entries, and reliability this shocking to me says something is spectacularly wrong with the regs.

They need to come up with something that costs significantly less to bring in manufacturer entries, and at very least give the privateer entries a chance to at least be in with a shout of victory.

Why? Seems in pretty good health to me. LMP1 was a write off this year but it was pretty spectacular last year. Sure that side of things need a re-jig, but otherwise things are ok.

The overall WEC series is superb, not sure how allowing Clios on the grid would help aside from some spectacular closing speeds and crashes.

P1 stopped being an event since the 2 car caught Jackie Chan but pretty much where ever you looked there was close racing going on - gte pro was outstanding right until the end cool

The whole race was pretty eventful, more more exciting than a sunday afternoon bore fest
