There is some very interesting placing of safety vehicles in that clip!

The fire van potentially saved a few lives there, loads of people stood in the area directly behind it. Crazy.

I am genuinely stunned that they didn't have at least a chicane made out of tyres to at least take some impact or slow a car down that went straight on. To have an open end to the circuit dead ahead of a braking zone on an FIA sanctioned meeting is madness.

I think that's where the 'joker' lap is, yep, a joker lap in world touring car racing. The series is a joke.

It's bad enough having that setup for a runoff area, but if cars are supposed to run though there at speed someone needs to take a long hard look at themselves, there is zero protection for pedestrians.

I had not spotted the people when i watched the video.

That is incredible, i cant believe any race series would allow spectators to stand in a position like that, never mind a full FIA World championship… confused

Actually, this track map would suggest that is unlikely to be the joker lap area. Even so, the layout remains sub standard...

Surprised at the amount of forward head movement there was, then saw the driver using a hybrid HANS - I thought they had to have a "proper" HANS for series like these?

Yeah I thought that HANS didn't do fk all in that accident.
