A WRC stage over Hellfire Abergwesyn Pass would be quite something!

It's recently been enacted in England, it's been legal in Northern Ireland for ages (before I was born anyway) and might come into Scotland, depending on certain other things going on.

The MSA promoted it, supported by certain economic / tourism lobbies.

Oh, for goodness sake, keep up!

Road racing, on closed public roads was legalised in England in April this year, after a prtlonegd opublic consultation.
Is Wales only just starting to catch up?

That would be the Wales that has pulled the plug on more state finance for the Circuit of Wales project, for a F1 class track at Ebbw Vale. Rightly, in view of the previous lack of progress and appparent skulduggery around it.

As I understand it the only reason why Wales has lagged behind is because they insisted on the closed road bill being translated into Welsh. Something the British Civil service said wasn't legally necessary so they wouldn't do.

Shame really because generally speaking the Welsh as a nation are probably more likely to accept closed road motor sport on their patch then the English. They are certainly far more tolerant of Road Rallying.... bloody need to be too!

Yes, because the halo track turned into a POS and also because even most Welsh people don't speak Welsh!

So there is a need to get over the vanity project, and then interpret new proposals in a bi-lingual way - no wonder it takes longer!
