Loeb 3rd quickest on the first proper stage. I can't see him finishing in the top 5 though, if at all.

My pre-rally expectation for Loeb was ppicking up a decent placing through calm consistency rather than top pace. I guess we'll see!

Good road position or not, that is an impressive first day by Loeb. Will be interesting to see if he can keep it up.

Sounds like some silly spins for Meeke, including a bit of gardening on a super special.

Evans is having a nightmare start to the year, surely his luck has to change soon?

Loeb has driven almost like he's never left! He seems to be really enjoying it and open at the end of the stage interview.

Toyota having a torrid time of it except Ott but can Jarri not catch a break or is he breaking the car? I reckon he's not easy on his motor as his cohort.

Elfyn was just unlucky but it's better to make sure Dan Barritt isn't damaged.

This is going to be another classic rally, especially when Loeb comes under pressure when the order is reversed.

Argh puncture for Loeb, such a shame! Just as Ogier puts in a belting time, despite having to avoid a dog!

It's not as if Loeb has been sitting around with his feet up ,been keeping his hand in with WRX ,Dakar and WTCC in previous years.

Him doing well isn't really surprising.

Up on Epynt today. First rally since August. Will be doing a video. Hoping not too many people stand in shot!

I had to miss Epynt in the end as my 208 got a massive crack in the screen.

In Mexico Other has really shown his class, while Meeks makes mistake after mistake!

Ok he was 17 minutes down, but Gus Greensmith in the top 10 has to be a fantastic result.

The whole sweeping the roads thing is still an issue. This nonsense was going on 20 years ago. Why not just fire a few ars down the road to clear it?

Which cars do you suggest? Cars going down a stage won't always be taking the right lines or be the right width compared to a current WRC car.

Solid job by Gus, drove to a pace and didn't make any major mistakes.

No it's not, the current format works just fine.

The beginning of the end for me, I guess it's a good excuse to get as many WRC trips in as possible before this electric ste takes over in a few years time..

I think were still a long way off battery tech being good enough to last a full 3 day event. But it could be a positive step with the weirdy beardy save the planet brigades that try and ban all sorts of fun. If the cars can run on electric/hybrid power for the road sections the FIA will be reducing its carbon footprint and then we don't need shorter events to help this, we can go back to mammoth tests like Acropolis/Safari of days gone by biggrin
