In stock car racing that seems to be the etiquette, in BTCC if you bulldozed someone out of the way like that you would likely get into trouble.... as for a tap you might still get into trouble but it depends on the tactical situation and who it is on the receiving end

It wasn't a blatant "get out of the way" push but rather a by product of how superspeedway races are run (lifting off is the last thing you want to do when running in a pack like that) combined with Almirola trying to block in a fashion that rarely works at Daytona or Talladega.
