Not related to the drivers or BTCC races but it seems Renault have pulled the plug on the Clio cup

And they had just confirmed they were returning to Knockhill as well. I'll definitely have to go this year then!

As soon as EXCELR8 announced their BTCC entry, the prospect of MINI Challenge replacing Clio Cup moved a step closer imho. Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see F56s replace the Clios.

In other news, AMD pairing Tordoff and Rory in what appears to be the ex-Eurotek Civics

I like the sound of the Mini Challenge being part of the BTCC circus

I’m still lamenting the loss of the Clios but it’s a worthy replacement.

Reading the article it seems that the JCW class will be at 8 rounds and the Cooper challenge (for the R50s) at the remaining 2, how that split is done isn't announced yet but I'm calling Croft and one of the Thruxton rounds.

Didn't we have R50 Minis at Knockhill one year. I'd have thought that would be a round for the Coopers if there's a significant Scottish element to join in.

Yeah, that would have been Scottish Mini Cooper Cup. Not sure how the regs compare but I'm sure someone in this thread will know...

We supported at Knockhill 2011-2013 and at Croft in 2012.

MINI Challenge spec Cooper Pro and Am classes are quite different from ours.

If they were to skip Knockhill, I’m sure the SMRC would have no difficulty filling the slot.
