Here's my ONE pic of that crash. The offending Honda's already cleared off!

Nice pics, as usual WVM. Love the ones of the Astons. Stunning motors IMO.

How long did you have to wait for the TVR flame shot? That's a cracking pic.

I did my usual trick of being totally unprepared for sillystone weather. I usually end up with hypothermia or sun-stroke, and you guessed it - I forgot the sun block!
I now look like a lobster - although the saving grace is it's fairly even and not down one side!!

Will try and post some pics later tonight when I get time.

Cracking races though, although did anyone else spend ages watching the guy's in the caterhams ??

Absolutely superb day it was just like being at Le Mans

I was amazed at how many people were there at 8:00 to watch the GT's warm up and I'm soooo glad that I got there early too, I didn't want to miss a single minute of the GT's

The closing laps of the GT race was brilliant although I did feel that I was one of the only ones willing the Maserarti to catch the Astons

I too look like a lobster but it's a small price to pay for what will be the closest I get to Le Mans this year

I am NOT going to miss Le Mans next year though and I am already looking forward to it.

Oh well only about 13 months to go.......................

Get yourself down to S'stone for the LMES race in August - went last year - fantastic weekend, LMES, BGT, and Historic GT's (inc Porsche 917K ).

I'll certainly be there then, I think I'll try and get there for the whole weekend next time too!

3 hours just wasn't enough for me (I guess nothing can beat 24 hours at a certain French race circuit)

Oh and did you really say that the Porsche 917K will be there in August?

most definately will, last year i went for just the LMES race, but that also included warm ups and qually for the BGT races and the classic endurance. there was a 917K, Ford F3L, ISO A3C, ferrari daytona LM amongst many other beautiful machines. i was standing in the pit garage which was housing the F3L and the 917 when they both started the cars up for the warm up!!! first an F1 spec DFV exploding to life, followed by a porsche flat 12 both unsilenced in a pit garage. it was one of those moments

The Historic festival event looks good too. Group C and Thoroughbred F1 cars on the same bill. A veritable orgy of classic sounds!

It's really not is it? FIA GT used to be 4 hour races, which was ok. Next year they're being cut to 2 hours, for TV

Fantastic day out, and nice to see the weather playing ball for once. Managed to get sunburnt at Oulton Park on Saturday, so yesterday just nicely seared me.

Still, the GT race is well worth getting up at 5a.m on Sunday morning for.

Very good pictures there Woody, especially like the one of the Aston and Maserati going away from the camera with the 'marbles' in the foreground

The sound of the Aston was absolutely sort of a metallic howl with a hint of a scream to it.

However there is something about that Corvette which just shouts Le Mans to me and boy does it sound like thunder

I enjoyed the day sooo much and can't wait to go to another round although it will have to be British GT next time

Sounds good, do you know what date it is in August? Sounds like one not to be missed (again)!

Ah, just found it on the LMES website - 12th/13th August. Although the website is in French I (just about) managed to make out what was happening that weekend!

Can't wait.

If you look on the silverstone web site they have the dates, ticket prices etc for the LMES - which is supported by the BGT's & F3!

Cheers for the comment's on the pic's- Glad you liked them - wasn't sure how that one would look - but with a bit of cropping etc turned out OK.

Cheers
