Seemed considerably less rubbish than it has done previously, thanks to quicker cars and no car swapping. Still can’t really deal with the constant hamming up by the commentators, and also the music/fake crowd noise/overaly complicated ‘Ridge Racer’ style ‘boosts’. It all seems to make a bit of a mockery of the technology.

Also....can’t we just have a few real circuits? The street circuits are just far too tight and fiddly and seem to really inhibit any real racing...

Well he has been pretty good for the first four seasons of Formula E. I like the combination of him and Dario Franchitti.

There's so much radio chatter that the commentators would barely get a word in if they stopped for it all. I agree that Jack Nichols is excellent.

The placement of the BBC logo was stupid - it obscured the time remaining graphic.

The halo lights were difficult to see from most angles.

OK race in the end - I'm a first time viewer so it was difficult to follow because I didn't know who was who or where they were on the circuit but that will come in time I guess.

Like I said the team radio is pointless during the race. They're just constantly reporting battery usage etc and a lot of the time it's in the native language of the driver anyway. The commentators know that after five seasons and do report when something interesting is being said.

I don't disagree. There are a number of factors at play. Cookie cutter racing cars don't help.

Is it in decline? Things like British GT, Blaincpain and TCR series seem to all be having their strongest period to date. WRX and WRC seem to be stronger than they have been in many years too.

Happy to be proven wrong by some figures, but seems counter to what I see. Single seaters may be less popular than they once were, but they only make up a tiny fraction of worldwide Motorsport.

I quite enjoyed that race, but will echo others here regarding talking over the radio and the on screen graphics which seemed somewhat 'juvenile'
Good last few laps though, JEV does seem rather good.

Quick question for a relative newbie to E, what parts of the car are common, and which are open for the team to modify? I know the battery is a 'spec' item, but what can the teams do to make a difference?

WRX 2018 was strong.
WRX 2019 could be a mini crisis as 2 major teams have lost manufacturer backing and one of them EKS Audi is definitely not appearing next year,Peugeot Hansen not sure currently

Anyway FE......Gave it another try but still "meh" ,fan boost is ridiculous but the racing is marginally better than previously.

Yes, there were few really good overtaking moves.

But the video game Attack Mode activation area was just stupid. What next? Bananas and turtles?

I've been a big critic of FE, but with no car swap and machines that can out pace an F4 car on the straights, I quite enjoyed todays race. Not sure if a mixed up grid after changeable weather in qualy helped, but there were some good battles through out the field. Still don't think it's essential viewing, but my respect for it has gone up quite a bit!

I still hate the high pitched noise the cars make though!

First Formula E race I’ve ever watched. I enjoyed it. Good overtaking action. Thought the commentator was very amateurish though.
In time, F1 is going to move to 100% renewable power so I reckon Formula E will disappear. Until then, I’ll enjoy the novelty of this series as long as it remains in free to view.

A real improvement without the car swap.
Commentary was awful and annoying. Dont now his name nicholl's was it? but always guessing whats going on and mostly wrong.
Misinformation is for the trumpanzee world not car racing lol.
Both of them should do some research and read the rule book before attempting to do the job they have been allowed.

In qualifying Dario was telling Nicholls the rules on tyres, but he simply wasn't listening. You could hear he was getting annoyed, and there was a brief silence laugh

The actual racing was easily on a par with the average F1 race. However, as with F1 races that they put in the middle of nowhere I felt the location did the series no favours whatsoever.

The central locations are only really any good for the fans attending, so why go somewhere with very little fan interest? Most circuits effectively look the same on telly as it's just walls and fence.

We've ditched Sky for next year so it'll be BTCC and FE for me from now on it terms of live motorsport.

I think Vandorne demonstrated quite well why he was no longer required at McLaren. Dropping 14 places, must be some sort of a record.

The race was severely hampered by the weather and 1-day format. 7-Ps fully played-out.

I enjoyed it, but then I thoroughly enjoy watching a Kart championship at my local circuit.
