New cars, new drivers, wet practice and qualifying and no-one's turned up to watch.
TBF it takes hardcore fans with some investment to go stand in the rain to watch sport. I'm only out of bed and watching it live as I've a few minutes to kill before going to work. What are peoples opinions on the various available broadcasters WRT commentary as I'm sure they're all wanging the same feed, eurosport commentator is obviously new to motorsport and decided to learn as he goes.
Dillman penalised as his team didn't understand the hastily implemented rules? Great start!

I'm watching on BT ESPN and the commentators have spoken over every single team radio so far, very annoying. They also don't seem to know the rules very well either, such as how the qualifying format works. It's quite frustrating as a newcomer to watching Formula E, as I myself am not sure of the rules.

So they LOOK identical and they SOUND identical. The bits that are different are invisible and unnoticed to the observer?
That is guaranteed to ensure lack of interest.
Fully spec or outwardly spec doesn't seem to hurt interest in F2 or Indycar, so not sure it's a reason for lack of interest in Formula E? I'd imagine a striking and/or creative livery is more than enough for most people when it comes to variety. That is guaranteed to ensure lack of interest.
Surprised you don't get the world feed commentators on BT/Eurosport.
Very mixed up qualifying session, sudden stop in the barrier at the end there! The race could very well be rather stop/start.
I love the graphics, the disappointed gestures from the drivers when they crash/retire is great!

Hmmm - interest in motor sport worldwide is declining in most categories of the sport and I wonder why. I am pretty convinced lack of variety on grids is a factor.
Far more likely to do with car ownership and driving in general falling amongst the younger generations. There just isn't the need to own or drive a car for many so they never get interested in them.Jaguar eTrophy support race is about to start, see it here:

Season 5 round 1 and the presentation of this series is still a shambles. The sound in particular- microphones not working, commentators talking over team radio etc.
Now trying to find out how to watch on TV as I’m sure it’s supposed to be on the red button but the Formula E website isn’t working...

Audi powered cars starting from the back because they all had power spikes riding the bumps. Software issue.

99% of the radio in FE is the driver reporting on battery consumption so it's not worth stopping for it.Now trying to find out how to watch on TV as I’m sure it’s supposed to be on the red button but the Formula E website isn’t working...

In the wet and drying qualifying session? The commentators were speculating about what the qualifying format and rules were supposed to be while Dillman was exploring and reporting on the car / track conditions. That was my first exposure to Formula E season 5. I thought I'd give Formula E another go.
Gosh, I thought F1 was a little artificial with DRS and silly penalties, but this is another level. Fan boost, Attack Mode (by driving over a special area off the racing line), drive-through penalties for using a little too much power... silly graphics, incidental music in replays, pulsing LED lights on the Halo device ....
It's all a bit of a culture shock for me.
Nice to see Phillipe-baby driving though.

All true, but close racing, overtakes, hard defending, cars are noticeably quicker than last year..........plus a choice of four channels to watch it on, two of which are FREE, two of which are free to me.
