Cracking move by Rossi on Herta. There's something so natural about watching the cars use the run off to keep their speed up on the first corner.

Anyone else watching?

This is great! It's the complete antithesis of that boreathon F1 earlier. Look how fast and bumpy it is, and walls, grass and gravel, undulations, dips and cambers, no power steering and pitstops you can actually see what's happening!

Exactly this. F1 no longer required. Really enjoying it.

Is it really that great?

Yes it's better than F1 deffo, but it is still all about tyres, push to pass etc. And sadly dominance this day.

The cars are better, sound better, look better, but I lasted about 30 laps before i switched off.

Good race, especially the end. Seeing the effects of tyre degradation and how each driver managed it was great to see at the end of the race

Enjoyed that. Not the best race for the lead but really impressive drive from Rossi. Watching the onboards of Dixon fighting the car was mighty impressive and the battle with Herta/ Felix etc was very good indeed. Just proves you should watch the whole race

The racing's close if crude (they seem like big karts) but the coverage is insufferable, are the commentators like a juke box that stop every 2 minutes unless someone chucks a quarter in? What was with someone's drunken uncle dj'ing at a wedding mixing pop songs into the mix?

On the American feed they go to commercials and the commentary stops. On the International feed we get they continue to show the racing without the commentary.

Problem is it’s the US coverage, they have so many ad breaks this year on network tv in the states. Sky got the coverage from BT which was a mistake, at least BT had their own commentators so when the Americans went to commercials you didn’t notice.

yeah I figured. I guess the American commentary don't recognise there's a world outside America, so can't continue to commentate like brundle and co would do when on itv and their feed was sold to australia etc?

Seems a bit half assed is what I were saying, they really are just copy/pasting it. Even freesports employ commentators, and they cant even afford a team radio time delay editor so have to apologise for the "fking idiot" from a "extremely distressed young man"

It's just me that really likes the pure sound sections we get then?!

Had to miss the last 15 laps, but really enjoyed the battles from P2 down. I won't spoil the result, but he was in a class of 1 today!

Nope - I'm with you on them!

Also - when will F1 stop messing about and get some helmet cams sorted - the shots from Graham Rahal's just make the whole thing more "real" than the static car cams.

Compared to the F1 tripe served up earlier yesterday, that was engaging and interesting to watch.

Yes, I know you can argue it was a one horse race the same, but behind that, it was all going on!

And when nothing is going on watching the drivers wrestle the cars is entertaining in its self! F1 maybe bd fast, but it looks easy!

I've got it on. Expecting trouble with the surface melting and dodgy (as Martin Brundle mentioned in Canada a few years back) repairs.
