Are they really going to send Rossi out with suspension wrapped up in tape? yikes
Why not, they seem happy enough to tie wrap new fence sections to a damaged fence.

IndyCar is a joke when they race at these dumps.
I gulped when I saw the portable fence being cable tied!

Don't like this track. It's where Wickens was paralyzed last year.

RHR has had two bad crashes in two years here.

Judging by the comments on twitter a lot of people don't think this track is suitable or IndyCar but to me just looks like another superspeedway.

The harsh reality is pack racing in superfast single seaters is asking for trouble anywhere.

Combination of track length, width, corner bank angles, and corner radii - some speedways tend to force the cars together into a pack whereas others spread them out into a line

And the track where Justin Wilson crashed from which he died from injuries the next day.

This. Usually when a car spins, it hits the wall at less than 30 degrees...30 degrees and less, the car moves along the wall, scrubbing off speed, 30 degrees or more and it gets messy. With the track being triangular in shape, and it’s width, shallow banking means that the cars don’t scrub off speed and have loads of time/ distance to do freaky things either on their own or interacting with other cars.

Tragic as that event was, I don't think it can be blamed on the track in all honesty. Was just a freak "wrong place at the wrong time" situation with the debris thrown up by the accident in front of him. Could happen anywhere (and sadly has). Whole other set of concerns regarding that accident, but I don't think the track layout had anything to do with it.

Pocono being very wide and flat (and fast) creates pack racing 3 or even 4 wide on starts and restarts that can go on for some time that is not good for Indycars as the Las Vegas race in 2011 will show.

Hit by the displaced nose one of a car he was following, he didn't actually crash

On board from Sato shows he didn't turn into Rossi - https://twitter.com/RLLracing/status/1163935823299...

That's pretty conclusive that Sato wasn't to blame, I wonder if those that condemned him will (PT) take it back.

I saw it live and it definitely looked like he had moved over and caused the accident.............Having seen that vid I can see now he didn't................I would add I am now struggling to work out what did happen though................can only see it as a racing accident and, as it states on the ticket................motorsports is dangerous....thankfully nobody, to my knowledge got seriously injured.

Think it was Rossi touching the rear of Sato's car out of shot that pitched him to the left and made it look like he'd turned in, but clear from that footage that Sato didn't initiate it. Think maybe RHR below Rossi may have forced him to drift to the right, unfortunately just as Sato was passing. Don't see Tracey or anyone else laying into Dixon for almost getting into Rossi a fraction earlier (may be a tiny puff of tyre smoke visible?), which may well have been why his pace dropped and RHR and Sato got the run, which is what caused them to be three wide at that point. Credit to RLLR for releasing the footage without turning it into a slanging match. Ditto Sato, who was pretty composed on Twitter, all things considered. Pretty mental onboard footage, and glad everyone was ok. Lots of bits flying around cockpits in those impacts.

I too thought it was a slam dunk that Sato moved on Rossi.

Rosenqvist cleared to race at Gateway.

I have to say this season has been very enjoyable to watch with great racing & seeing strategy at play.

between this & V8 Supercars I've enjoyed my car motorsport.

Only just realised there's an Indycar race this weekend.

Bonus for Now TV pass bought for F1 this afternoon.

Looking forward to Portland - it's a track that usually generates a bit of overtaking, from memory.

Jeez and we're back.

lap 1 silliness as predicted. Also Pocono dropped from the calendar, Indycar are returning to the shorter Richmond Oval.
