Shame Fred's efforts ended up being in vain with the safety car and now red flag. His driving was pure masterclass and head and shoulders above the opposition. Who would have thunk it?

Well, they were 4th when he got in, currently they're leading, they're may well be very little further running, so I'd say his perfomormance has been about as far from in vain as possible

With all the full course yellows bunching the leaders up, surely they will rest Alonso now and drop him in for the last stint?

He's made a number of ontrack overtakes and I'd certainly want him in the car for the dash to the line.
