Bit annoying we can't have more build-up / race review on the C4 coverage, but it's understandable that W-Series wants to promote that exclusively via social media as it helps grow the following.
Highlights:
Claire seems to have settled her commentary down from first race - bit more composed / less shouty.
Decent bit of clean wheel to wheel racing between Chadwick & Powell which didn't result in the inevitable you'd expect from certain drivers in F1, BTCC, etc.
Confident drive from Visser - great start, dealt with both restarts well & built a decent gap by the end.
Got to feel gutted for Bovy though - finally gets a drive and her car suffers a problem before she can even start Not sure what green flag bloke thought he was doing waving that everything was good to go considering he was standing right in front of a car, out of grid slot, that was smoking away pretty clearly for anyone to see.

1st safety car was due to Kovy's smoking car - well technically it was more due to the support vehicle that attended that incident still being parked up on the circuit as the marshalls had actually removed the car pretty quickly.
2nd safety car was after the restart when Keszthelyi was a bystander after Hawkey's overtake on the car behind going somewhat awry.

I'm currently watching the F4 from Thruxton and they look significantly quicker than the W Series cars which I thought were F3. Might just be the camera angles giving a better sensation of speed.
The F4 cars will only be braking twice a lap at Thruxton so have plenty of time to get up to speed FourWheelDrift said:

Jamie Chadwick has just been announced as a Williams F1 development driver, in which she will conduct simulator work for the team and get to hang around in their garage at some races.
Good news, she couldn't be too far off kubicas pace in the real car surely? Guess the pr of a female F1 driver after so many years is cancelled out somewhat by ditching a disabled F1 driver. ..Hopefully visser/moore/garcia can find similar roles

As long as it is done on merit, then yes. Hopefully it's not just a fashionable thing to have a woman driver on the team for PR, like the Spanish 'development driver' signed by Lotus a few years ago, who seemed to be more useful on instagram than in the car.thegreenhell said:

Who signed up for Formula Women and then never turned up for the test. I assume because she wouldn't have qualified.l354uge said:
Clear meritocracy established now. Chadwick followed by visser and then garcia/powell/wohlwend.
I'd like to see what they can do in F2.
Agreed, they seem to be the front pack. I’d love to see Koyama really get the bit between her teeth. Clearly quick and loves to overtake, be good to see her in the mix.I'd like to see what they can do in F2.
Enjoyed today's race. Not the most spectacular visual spectacle but Chadwick's resistance to pressure form Visser was notable. Looking at the championship points there's Chadwick and Visser clearly ahead of the rest and possibly the ones to look to for progression to higher formulae.
