I’m passing Milan on my way to the Alps on Monday. Does anyone know if it would it be worth dropping in to Monza on the way? As an F1 dunce do teams stay on to test or anything after an event or are they straight out on Sunday night?

It's not a bad place to stop and you can still get to the old banking.

But probably not worth it post race.

If you need a detour and are routing through Switzerland then I can recommend a few.

Been Monza many times and it’s always a joy to take in the mini camp sites set up next to the chicken wire by the true fans who camp out for days over the GP.

Monza is worth visiting at any time, even if there’s nothing happening on track. In fact, such is the atmosphere of the place it’s remarkable to wander around and just take it all in. So much history, and a tangible sense of what’s gone before. Just do it and tell me I’m wrong.

(Or maybe I’m just weird, but I don’t think so hehe )

Just watching it on TV gives me goosepimples.

Thanks, it does sound good. I’m not really an F1 fan so perhaps it doesn’t resonate so much with me, but I’d still like to visit sometime.

Instead I went to the Alfa Romeo museum. They really do have quite the back catalogue and it’s a great museum. Rubbish food though.
