What an absolutely fascinating thread, really interesting and not just because of the inside info from Wookie! Comment from all of the guys who've contributed from " i was just a pleb working for", (clearly not, really interesting insight to how manufacturer sales dynamics work) to a semi pro racing driver who tells the reality of just how hard it is to get the resources to go racing, even at such a high profile level, is superb. TBH, would has the basics of a good film script.....

Agreed, fascinating thread! I had no idea it worked the way it does.

I’d say A.J in the seat alongside Mr Ingram next year in the Toyota.
AJ’s Pirtek sponsorship deal comes to an end this year. I believe he’s said it’s highly unlikely he’ll be racing in the BTCC next year unless something has changed in the last few days?

Nothing has changed as of yet, it seems to be pretty much a win or bust to get a BTCC seat worth having/sponsorship that pays the money to get into a seat for next season so far. Porsche Cup is a very real possibility if a BTCC seat doesn't happen.

fairly certain Turks is a BMW contracted driver. He has the obligatory BMW company car changed every 9k miles so he is on BMW GB's books in some capacity. Eliphant as well but probably less money and Jordan will be funding the drive but getting some BMW freebies.
Oliphant has to pay to drive for WSR.

Jordan’s WSR Drive was funded almost entirely by Pirtek. Without Pirtek’s funding something has to change dramatically for him to remain, but talks have been ongoing with several parties including BMW UK for a few months now.
